ADB Appcontrol is probably the easiest solution for people unfamiliar with adb. It provides you with step by step instructions and a GUI, so you don't have to do everything by command line. https://adbappcontrol.com/en/

Just run the debloat wizard and it'll give you recommendations on what to disable.

Watch out on unintended consequences of this deal! I tried using the steps outlined and had to call to find out why I was ineligible.

I called and they got me the deal but I think i no longer get free Amazon Prime as a long time Metro account holder. They messed with my account to make me eligible and in hindsight I'd rather get Amazon Prime for free than an unneeded tablet for $20.

If you are a current Metro customer, you will lose any promotions you have on your account if you take advantage of this deal. I know someone who had a long-standing free line promo on their account and lost it when a tablet was ordered using the previous $20 tablet deal. And, because the free line promo was old and no longer available, CS refused to reinstate it. There's no indication or warning that this will happen and it doesn't make any sense because this is a device deal, not a service/plan/perk deal. Super shady on Metro's part.

That's because Samsung software is filled with bloatware, telemetry, and redundant apps

You can adb and uninstall like 100 unnecessary sys apps and it will move much faster
128gb version comes with 8gb of ram, but this is the most powerful "new" tablet for $20 bucks.

Got two of the 8GB / 128GB version for $35 + tax each plus cost of trade in directly from Samsung recently (about $80 each out of pocket for me after buying cheap iPad Airs for trading in). I think that deal is now over, but Samsung may bring it back. The 8GB version is definitely worth the $60 difference to me over the 4GB one.

I also bought the 4GB version from Metro during the last deal, and found it to be very laggy and stuttery. Bought it for my kid to play Minecraft on and watch YouTube, but surprisingly, even his 2021 Amazon Fire HD 10 plays Minecraft better in terms of stuttering. Also, the screen viewing angles aren't that great. My Lenovo P11 Pro Gen 2 with the 120Hz OLED display that was recently on sale for $208 is on a totally different level when it comes to display quality.

Of course, can't complain at this price, but you need to set your expectations at the right level when buying this.

Is there a limit on how many of these you can get? Stack them for 20 and then trade in Best Buy for 70? ten or so of these and you can get iPad pro for 200?

damn! i just bought it $50 from metro three days ago. can i ask for a price match?

update: i am chatting with metro representative. he told me that instead of price match, he get help me purchase another a9 at the promotion price. so i pay another $20 and get the 2nd a9 tablet which will bring the cost down to $25 per tablet. that is weird!
50 + 20 = 70

70 ÷ 2 = 35

They do limit these based on the previous thread. And there is also a chance of you getting blacklisted. Once blacklisted, all your future orders will fail.

I want to become new customer to get this tablet. Will the Motorola Edge or Iphone 11 ( its old now) have higher resale ( not for trade-in ) value after 1 year when phone will unlock?

I signed up for the $30 byod plan on their website this morning. When I went sent to the store to get this tablet deal, they said the system isn't allowing them to add it to my account and I have to wait 30 days. It has never been like that before. Thoughts?

That's what is holding me back. I get amazon prime and google one, plus the 15gb of Hotspot, which comes in handy from time to time. All of it for 30dlrs a month per line. I'm afraid this tablet deal will mess with my BYOD plan and they'll move me to one of the new ones. Last time I checked I didn't find anything better than what I currently have, at least for that price.
