Don't see why not, but almost everyone who has gone into a store has had a bad experience. There is an additional activation fee (listed on the top of the web page for the phones), they upsell insurance, cases etc.
Yeah, but considering I can't buy any new devices from Metro online, I thought it may be worth buying an iPhone 12 in store.

Most stores/employees won't accept gv number for port-in promotions, but if you are lucky, it will work. There are few reports of successful port-in of gv promotions. If you don't want to try your luck or get scammed by stores, it is better to do it online.
I would have done it online if that was an option. Looks like my address is no longer letting me order any new devices.

Do you have an option of using another address, or adding an apt# etc?

I tried that on one of my many failed attempts, and also my neighbors address (same street name, different house number), but nothing worked.

The problem is that now I want an iPhone 12 (or any phone that needs a port in number), and each failed attempt locks me out of the port in number (for 6 hours according to user googlephone).

The only thing I can think of is to have someone order me a phone using their address, cc, etc, but that is just too much of a hassle.

They'll look at you straight in the eyes and lie to your face and they'll add stuff behind your back and mislead you.

If they add insurance just call asap the Metro CS complain and they'll remove it and credit your account.

Thanks, I suspected that may be the case. Will try in a few days.

I got a text from Metro yesterday saying:
Hurry! Get your Samsung Galaxy Tab A9+ 5G Free with instant rebate. Just add a tablet data line and and pay $5 activation fee and it's all yours.

And it gives the A9+ link to order it.
But there is no $5 fee ordering online.

I believe that they set 2 for maximum tablets for each account. In order to get more, you need to hack the system by doing a combination of things like using VPN, adding to the 2nd line of address, and etc.

That probably removes the app to unlock it, correct? I guess at the end of the year they SIM card can be put back in to reinstall those programs and unlock it and then just do this again.

After one year, you need to change the CSC/firmware back to metro/TMO, factory reset, and put a metro sim card inside to get back the metro network unlock app back to unlock the tablet. Too much hassle.

IF one has one of the special low priced Metro plans from previous years like the $25/mo. plan with the 10Gb hotspot or the $24/mo. with the 10Gb or the 15Gb hotspot, or any other such low priced plan, one MUST NOT add/activate this tablet plan or any other device plan on the same account as those low priced plans, because the Metro/T-Mo system will automatically replace those low priced plans with the newer more expensive plans today, and it'll not be possible to get back to the older low priced plans.

One can get the $20 tablet as an existing customer BUT must NOT activate it on the same older low priced plan, unless willing to lose the low priced plan.
The A9+ 5G tablet should ONLY be used with Wi-Fi ONLY in that case and it will forever remain locked to Metro.
The $20 payment will just be used as payment of the existing low priced plan.

See this older SD thread about the $24/mo. 15 Gb hotspot plan that's no longer available:

https://slickdeals.net/f/16745708-metro-by-t-mobile-24-mo-unlimited-with-15gb-hotspot-for-existing-customers

But it may still be possible to get the $25/mo. 10Gb hotspot plan with a BYOD.
With Metro you never know, it often depends on the rep or supervisor.
