It was posted by Dr. Wajahat I believe a couple weeks ago. At the time the deal was $799 I ordered 7/22 and it arrived 7/25. TO confirm I clicked this same link and sure enough, same one I purchased. I jumped on the price when I saw it.

Copy paste from my receipt:

Bought and returned this a few months ago. Quality of the zen book line has gone down a lot. Very flimsy plastic in all areas of the laptop. Screen flexes like crazy with just a little pressure. Feels very cheap.

Also laptop is not as thin as the pics make it look. the rubber feet on the bottom of the laptop are huge and add a lot of thickness to the laptop. Went with galaxybook pro 14 instead

You didn't feel like the text was a little blurry? That the issue I have with oled screens 1200p or less, especially touch screens.
I will say that compared to an IPS monitor, IPS is easier to read. Initially I felt it straining to read text but I adjusted some settings and its doable. This is not my primary work computer so I am alright with it.

I do wish this had the quality of the older zenbook duo I mentioned in my earlier post.

Which book pro 14 did you get? I bought and returned the book3 pro because the battery life was terrible and it had awful thermals. I heard the book4 pro isn't any better.

Anyone else notice that almost in conjunction with their announced "outlet sale" that Best Buy raised open box pricing for a lot of items? Was tracking availability for some open box LG rear speakers and they jumped $40-50 in price.

Superslickz posted his receipt from a few weeks ago that listed this laptop in open box excellent condition at $650; now it's $693.
Open box prices change frequently it seems. I track OB laptop pricing a lot and for no reason they might go up or they might go down. I can't say they jacked up the price because of a supposed sale, but I know you can't count on an OB price staying the same for more than a few days, especially if it becomes a popular item, they will raise it.

Does the Core Ultra have the same oxidation issues as the 13th and 14th gen Intel CPUs?

I can't find any information on this.
Oxidation issues were only from 2023. Current Intel issues are reportedly them running too high a voltage. I don't believe laptops have the same issue as everything is different.

What did you adjust to get it to be "doable"?

Messed with calibration settings, brightness, inverted the text to where text is white and the background is gray. The key is brightness though. The dimmer the screen the more comfortable it is to work extended periods of time. I have read about some people that have zero issue working on oled. I have also read about some people who initially get some eye strain and it goes away. Then I have read about those who just cant take it and got an IPS. I'm definitely in the middle.

BIG IMHO - If you are in need of a dedicated work laptop, you might want to get an IPS display. But if at least your secondary goal is to have a nice oled experience, then consider an Oled but be prepared for some discomfort. YMMV

Comparing the specs between the Yoga and the Zenbook, 155U vs 155H chip, IPS vs OLED, and 2 in 1 vs dedicated laptop seem to be the standout differences. I guess in a college setting, you might benefit from the tablet functionality, but the Zenbook does also have a touchscreen.

If weight is a concern, it's 3.57 vs 2.82 lbs.

I just bought this. First Zenbook. To be honest, the build quality is excellent to me. Very solid. Love the color (sort of a gunmetal grey). I've not had an Asus have really bad quild quality, but have only bought Vivobooks and a few Creator Q540's and this Zenbook seems a step up from them. Completely happy and might buy another while on sale!

I also didn't find the OLED display to be fuzzy or have any issues. For a 1200p 14" screen, I thought it was great. Of course, I like the 2.8K screen on my Q540 more, but definitely nothing bad stood out on this.
