I have the 2500 and is arguably the best lightest reel on the market. Super good and convenient when I fish on my kayak with this one. Def recommended.

For the price and it punches above its weight class in terms of value. You have to move up to the $400-$500 range to find a much better reel.

Im assuming these are the old version, not the newly revamped one.

In my opinion there's no real good reason to go to that value for a size 2500 reel. The vanford is very good and durable reel especially for 2500 size. I can see spending more for a bigger reel for bigger fish.

it is a very nice reel, my favourite one in the price range <250. however, i would not call this price slick taking into account that 1)the new version was just released and 2)you can get it cheaper on aliexpress (which I did)

Agreed. These were $15X on Japan lure shop for at least the last year although the Yen seems to be making a slight comeback.
