If you have any desire to get an iPad (and you don't have any higher-end specific needs), this is a bargain.

For $200, you can run virtually any iPad application or iPhone application. It's an entirely capable device -- there's nothing "wrong" or poorly constructed with this model. Yes, other models have nicer features -- but they come at additional costs.

It's also relatively newish -- only one generation removed from current. So you'll get a few years of use out of it before Apple end-of-lifes it, just to get you to "upgrade".

This ipad plus one of those cheap android tracfones (even if you don't activate them on cellular) will give you the ability to run pretty much any mobile application available.

There are frequent sales on 13" M1 Macbook Airs (they are a 4 year old machine at this point), as well as sales on refurbished Dell business-class laptops (8th gen intel and later). For around $1000, you can get one device of each platform. No excuse to not be able to get anything done.

Wow what a deal. I know, it from 2021 and 64GB however it is perfect for internet browsing and social media consumption which is for 90% of folks out there.

Headphone jack and a home button are nice too!

Are you joking? Only $20 savings for an open return that is in fair condition is a fool's savings. Can get $10 off just with a target card.

Got this from Costco just now for the 90 day return policy and double manufacturer warranty. Thanks OP!
Costco's extra warranty doesn't apply to touchscreen tablets and Citi Card stopped the extended warranty coverage last year. At least that's what they told me when I bought the 9th gen iPad in store last year.

Only cards with annual fees have extended warranty any more. I remember when the Costco Citi had 2 years extended warranty!

My Chase Freedom Unlimited (no annual fee) offers extended warranty protection. You'll get an additional year on the original warranty. Might want to check it.

oh yeah...good call out. I do have that one and it's one of the only/few credit cards still with free extended warranty. I do pay for Chase Sapphire Reserve so tend to use that. I've heard it's a pain to file a claim, though. Amex (cards with annual fees) is supposed to be much easier.

Like iPhone SE the 9th gen ipad will not go away. It's the last ipad with home button and headphone jack, which is still in demand for business and industrial use
It's almost as if the market is responding accordingly!

Wondering if worth upgrading from my 7th gen? Mostly web browsing, Netflix, and evening emails for work. The 7th gen will get iOS 18 but will probably be EOL afterwards

I think its worth the upgrade and trade in your old one just the battery "refresh" is worth it.

I have a $30 Best Buy reward certificate from previously. If I apply that to this purchase does it still count towards the $250 in order to receive the $25 certificate?

Thanks in advance!

When you use the reward certificates it actually discounts the item, so I would imagine it would not count towards the $250.

I got em for my kids and my boomer mom, all upgrading from iPad Air 2, which is very long in the tooth and not supported by the latest iPadOS. The headphone jack and Lightning are actually good to have since they're used to those.

Kids might outgrow it and 64GB is painful especially for loading roadtrip videos but...$205 (Costco) is damn cheap if I just get a few years out of it. 3 iPads for $615 is slick!

And I have 90 days to see if something better comes around near BF, but I doubt it.
Did Costco let you buy 3? It said a limit of 2 when I went to buy.

Waited for the first 2 to ship and then Just tried to buy the 3rd now and it will NOT put it at $199.

It shows $199 on screen but when I got to check out it changes to $329 still

I traded with Best buy who gave $110 for 7th gen. Also probably if you add additional $50 item, you may get in the spend $250 get $25 back promo.
