I actually chatted with support and they added the offer manually to my Amex account. My question now would be the following. The offer says spend $500 but the watch is $499. Would it work with just the purchase of the watch or would I have to buy something else as well to make it pass $500.

I'm super tired so I hope this is halfway clear. I have the 965 and I like it. That being said if you're coming from a Garmin Fenix 6X you just have to tame some expectations if you decide to go with the 965 I probably would have got the epix put my girlfriend bought me the 965 last July I was getting ready to get a new watch and I thought epix. But the 965 feels better on the wrist for me at least and compared to my Phoenix I feel that because the 965 is lighter thinner fits my wrist better I get a more accurate heart rate reading well I know I do because I have the HRM with running dynamics back when I had the Phoenix running dynamics wasn't in the watch per say like it is the 965 but I still use the HRM with my 965 and the results were similar enough that I didn't feel like I needed to use it HRM on top of the 965. I think if you go with a 965 and you don't have well I don't know maybe you got a ton of hours on your Phoenix which I was lucky if I got maybe 10 hours but I run a lot so I expect low I have low battery expectations that being said the 965 if you go that route versus the epics 965 won't have the battery but the epix You will also feel like you have a more rugged watch that you can do or that you don't have to baby but I've been tough on this 965 and it's held up in the last incoherent thing I will say is I feel like the forerunner there's a longer time span between the newer models whereas I feel that they're kind of pounding out a new epics and Phoenix on a pretty regular basis or more regular than the 4Runner which I think that means that if you were to go with one of those two watches the forerunner will be a little bit more future-proof because I think you'll get more updates. $400 is not bad deal for the watch. You might as well try out the 4Runner then at least you'll know for the next watch if you're done with the forerunner series or you're going to stick with it the last thing I will say is supposedly there is some conference that is coming up or some expo at Garmin will be introducing possibly introducing a new watch I would bet my watch that it's not a 96 5X or a 967 somewhere I read something a smaller Phoenix or something anyway supposedly that's in September but I wouldn't wait around for that although I will say I think I seem to always get the best Garmin deals around veterans Day

I called AMEX to request the promotion since it didn't show up on my app. I have an Everyday Amex and a platinum Delta card. The rep said she could not offer me the deal.

Thank you for taking the time out to write the detailed comparison. Really appreciate it. I went ahead and purchased the forerunner as I needed something lighter. I have tried sleeping with my fenix but I just can't! It's too heavy. Forerunner being only 53g seems way lighter so maybe this could become everyday watch! The only thing I personally don't like is the watch faces and layout! It's more of an Italian font lol. I'll have to figure out some way to make it look like professional as well during my day job.
