Can confirm, I had this router for 24 hours and returned it because of how absolutely garbage the range was. Connection would constantly drop in parts of the house that had 2 out of 3 bars with every other router we've ever used, and even when it wasn't disconnecting speeds would drop significantly if you so much as faced away from the router. Avoid at all costs.

Reviews on Amazon are rather rough. Most sharing the same issues of poor range and disconnect issues.
I'd love to upgrade just for the 2.5ghz lan ports so my NAS can run a bit faster, but gonna have to pass on this one. Also I don't like the idea of them putting some features behind subscription paywalls.

To Whom it may concern,

I have this router and had experienced dropped signals/invisible 6ghz network issues and went through TP-Link support to try and fix the issues. Had all sorts or things we tried, including multiple beta firmwares. The solution (interestingly) was to enable MLO. Completely fixed the random signal degradation/invisible network issue. Sadly it took them sending me another router to figure out it wasn't hardware. I think TP-Link still has some bugs to work out of their Wifi-7 line of routers.

I got the version that has all 2.5Gbps labeled ports and it was great in my condo, but when I moved to a bigger house it no longer has the range that I want.. so now it's just sitting on marketplace Frown

Had this router for 6 months in a 2 story townhome. It's been fine for the most part. Range is good enough, 2.5Gbps ports are what I cared about more for ethernet setups.

This router and it's big brother are terrible. The range is worse than my 7 year old wifi 6 router, which can be purchased at a fraction of this price. Much better options out there for sure

I bought this router for the multigig LAN on 2gb fiber from Ziply. My wired network shows full download and upload at 2gig and has been rock solid. I do not use the WiFi and instead run a mesh system in bridge on wired backhaul. Works very well, router is quick and has scheduling for reboots. Have had zero issues. There are very few options for 2.5gbps LAN at this price point.

This shows a fundamental lack of misunderstanding of human rights in the US compared to China and their ownership of tech companies.
The only right you have is that which allows you to pay taxes. Stop paying your taxes and let's find out what happens to you. The US has the most amount of laws and regulations of any country, and the book of laws only gets bigger each year.

Could be a good router for many use cases. I'm still holding out for mediatek wifi7 based devices to better guarantee openwrt support in the future.

Banana rpi4 and wifi7 modules are finally available but official firmwares are not yet released... but this could mean netgear/asus and other oems will have mediatek based devices releasing in the near future.

This is a good deal but we've seen the 200 price point before. You'll also likely not see 3rd party firmwares for this device.

Another junk router from tplink. They used to be ok but now producing all kinds of trash. Not only does it disconnect frequently but they never update the firmware after 1 year. Its like buying a brick. You had better be happy with it.

Yeah TP Link, no. I am in the process of getting the lid of all these chinese tech products that use wifi. My TP LINK is the first to go.

TP-LINK is a Chinese Communist Party/state owned Singapore company who will monitor/steal everything single bit of data transmitted through this router

For those who like to buy on Amazon, they're offering 15% back on this if bought on an Amazon Visa card through 9/30. Brings it to about $211.65.

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0CJSNSVMR

UPDATE: As flagged below, the Amazon version is the variant with all 2.5gb ports while the Walmart version has three gigabit ports. According to this review, the variants are otherwise identical, but Amazon one probably a better value (if you qualify for 15% off) if you want/need all 2.5gb ports: https://dongknows.com/tp-link-arc...er-review/
Thank you for this. Saved me time, effort, AND money.....Amazon one is $220 right now, so 15% will bring that down to $187, cheaper than Walmart!

There are quite a few from Asus, GL.inet, Netgear, Linksys, if you have your own router with multigig then there are a lot more wifi routers with only one 2.5Gb port that can be used as a multigig AP (not router because a router requires two 2.5Gb ports). What I'm saying is, so many options in 2024.

i got the TP mesh routers (4 of them) and they hella suck unless you are connected hardwired. My home is only 1628 sqft single story too. dont really trust their brand anymore, id pay the extra for a netgear. (better experience with their night hawk for mobile)

This is a great deal. I have this exact router as well as the TP Link. X e 75 pro mesh router and for a single point router. This is a smoking price as well to 1 GB per second. Easy. I push with 1 GB speeds. I push $995 on it with Wi-Fi from 10 ft. This is probably the best made router too. It's got solid construction. Excellent range. I live in a 2000 square foot home and I don't have any signal problems. No messing around with mesh setup and pallets fast enough. If you think you need more than 1 GB, you need to go get your head examined unless you're a radiologist uploading and downloading MRI images.

It's the best deal on a Wi-Fi 7 router I've seen. Yeah cuz tp-link wants like 400 bucks for their Wi-Fi 7 BE 10000.. that's pricey..

This router's all you need. Plus it's got the advantage of having multiple ports the plug-in besides your cable modem... Unlike a lot of the mesh routers where you have one port to plug into, most people are streaming anyway. So for the money if you can find the xe75 pro I would jump on that... They had that as a three pack for $179. I bought the eero 6 plus four pack for $199 and that mofo is going back. I haven't even opened it, but why do they sell these Wi-Fi 6 routers that can't even handle 1 MB per second. That ought to be just a basic landmark. If you've got DaxSS 3.1 modem, your router should be able to throughput 1 thousand MB per second... Or it's a choke point
