For home use anyone looking to upgrade from Wifi 5 should probably be snatching up the Linksys LN1301s that are going for <$20. AX4300 at that price is a pretty wonky price-performance ratio.
So is the Linksys LN1301 you mentioned any good for an everyday router? I'm rocking a Netgear Nighthawk AC2100 that's already worked well for us so I'm looking for something to jump into a AX wifi 6 router without breaking the bank. Thoughts?

The only downside to the LN1301 is no external antennas, but it's a mesh-capable AX4300 unit for less than twenty bucks. For the price of a Nighthawk you can get four of them and an order of doordash.

My Nighthawk has (3) large external antennae and is housed in my basement office right next to my internet gateway. It actually does a good job of providing internet all the way to my kid's 2nd story bedroom (gamer). My thought was putting one in the basement here and the second meshed unit in the 2nd story bedroom. I would think (at least in theory) I would see a better signal and speed in that 2nd story bedroom. At $20 each it might be worth a shot to enter the world of wifi 6?

It looks like there is room for at least 1 more antenna on this device
It has 4 more antennae internally.
