I was trying to figure this out last night but I think I read that Apple will give you one trade in credit for 180 if you buy an ip16 during the trade in process. But you will only get 155$ for each ip12 if you trade them in without buying a phone right away.

I never tried, but Metro will try to reserve the number for porting before completing the checkout and checks with Google I think, most likely it will fail if it is not unlocked by then.

Nope -- you can only attach one trade in device to a new purchased device

If you have 3 of them then trade in 2 for $155 Apple GC each -- buy the new iPhone and trade in the remaining phone for higher $180 value and apply the 2x GCs as payment

Buy a $7 Port number from NumberBarn and just use that to port and activate with them. The website is no longer letting you add an iPhone to your cart to do this online, but I went to my local CORPORATE Metro store and the did the deal for me.

Two options:
  • You can turn around and sell the iPhone 12 for ~$200 on Swappa.
--OR--
  • Use it as a trade in for a $1000 credit to put toward an iPhone 16.

I went in store and paid $125 before this came back. I called before going to make sure they had some in stock.

I was able to add a 2nd one on this deal for $35

It costs $102 out the door. $25 activation + $75 for the flex plan. You must go to a corporate Metro store, or else you'll go to a privately owned one, and those shady dealers might try charging you $25 for a SIM card.
