not to sound elitist but the $20 Aroma walmart rice cooker doesn't cook it evenly. The bottom will typically be overcooked or slightly burned. Also, the keep warm function doesn't work well and rice will burn after several hours in there.

With that said, if you only eat rice once every 1-2 weeks, it'll do most of the job.
I had to swap my inner pot as well after 7 yrs or so of use. That said, considering that I use the rice cooker a LOT (like 5-7 times a week), it was no brainer to spend $80 for a new pot (When I ordered it, if I get it shipped to H-mart near my place, there was no shipping charge) after old pot's inner coating started to flake off. (Also, I had the IH model which cost $350+ so $80 wasn't too high of cost compared with buying a new one)

That said, my understanding is that you can prevent it by washing your rice in another container - like big mixing bowl first, then pouring into the pot and measuring water and cook. washing your rice inside of the pot works like sand papering the pot eventually causing the inner coating to flake off.
Wirecutter agrees with the Koreans. "The Cuckoo CRP-P1009 makes the best sushi rice of all the cookers we tested"

I love my cuckoo at the beginning and it looks like it has good quality.until I had this cuckoo rice cooker for 5yr and the inner pot non stick is broken and appearing off. I used it with care, always hand wash my pot. the quality of cuckoo is poor and after sale service is bad. Call cuckoo and they ask $90 to send me a replacement inner pot. I can buy a new cuckoo rice cooker on sale for $150. why would I spend $90 for just an inner pot and use it for another 5 years. it doesn't make sense to me. I won't spend that money on the cuckoo again. My Mom has Zojirushi and it is still hanging there after 20yr daily use, it doesn't have the problem I have. I think when she gets rid of the zojirushi is when she is tired of using the same rice cooker every day. I might have to inherit her Rice cooker.

Go with Tiger or Zojirushi from Japan. Using them for over a decade still makes great rice. Cuckoo is Korean brand, known for inflating price and think they're superior than Japan made.
The cheapest Zojirushi pressure rice cooker is $358 on Amazon at the moment. Who is inflating price?
I have used rice cookers from all 3 brands you mentioned, and I have not had a single problem with them in 35 years of daily use. I think rice cookers are so simple that they seldom break.
I changed rice cookers not because they broke but because I needed a bigger one (from Tiger to Zojirushi) and then I wanted a pressure rice cooker (from Zojirushi to Cuckoo). My current Cuckoo works like new and even looks like new after 22 years of daily use.

Right. I'm sure Zojirushi only makes one model.

I was surprised it took so long with being pressure cooking based. 30 mins for white rice? Seems way long. 😕

My $10 3-cup rice cooker from Walmart makes perfect rice every time and has been going strong for 4 years now. I don't know how you could justify paying this much.

Hmm, I've never had those issues but I also eat it right away and then put the extra in the fridge after I eat and it cools down. It cooks evenly throughout for me. I cook rice once or twice a week, typically. Have probably used it 200 times.

You haven't tried pressure cooked rice then.

I've been using this model for the past 7 years. No issues whatsoever. It's a pressure rice cooker so will cook much faster than others. Make sure to use a plastic scooper so you don't scratch the non-stick surface of the pot. There's a turbo mode which cooks rice even faster but I've found that it doesn't cook evenly so would only really use it in emergencies.
