I had this iPad w/64GB. I'm not a heavy user but started having issues with doing over-the-air updates once I got to about 20GB free. The updates would fail, saying not enough space (20GB isn't enough?!?!). Got tired of having to delete a bunch of stuff just to do an over-the-air update and bought a iPad Pro M2 256GB. Supposedly, you can update via a connected computer but it just became too much of a hassle.

I'm not sure why you're being downvoted. This is the same company that sells 8gb laptops at $1000+.

I do like Apple products. They are unmatched in quality, especially when it comes to the tablet game. But they rip customers off and play these games to get people to either spend a small fortune to jump to a more reasonable configuration or for planned obsolescence.

I have the same issue and it's annoying. 64 GB is not enough and you have to delete some apps and photos to be able to update to the latest iOS.

The 256GB model is $450 which is as low as I've seen it. Not sure it gets cheaper than that for a model being phased out…

It didnt occur to you that Apple deliberately does this so you will buy yet another new, expensive apple product, and you have now rewarded them for that business behavior?

What a ridiculous comment. I don't have a crystal ball so I won't even waste my time defending buying the iPad Air 64GB that worked/updated just fine until recently. But now that I know what can happen after more than a year, I'm letting people know so they don't need a crystal ball.

I will say that I traded it in at BB, bought an open box Pro 11 M2 256GB during a deal and used a bunch of rewards and paid a little over $100 out of pocket. So yes, I'm happy with getting a much better iPad.

If you use your iPad for streaming content and web browsing, 64 gb is enough. Otherwise, it's worth it to get one with more storage.

This is the best deal that I've seen on these (and I have been in the market for this for my daughter.)

For reference, I paid 364.99 (with taxes and red card savings) on May 8th for the iPad 10th gen (I ended up returning it to buy the 5th gen for $399 before taxes.

Thank you!

I have an iPad Pro with 32GB storage and it works so the 64 definitely CAN work but you have to pay attention. Go for bigger storage if you want an easier experience.

It's the same game, though. It really doesn't cost them much (if even more than a couple of dollars per device) to spec their laptops starting at 16GB, but charging 200+ extra for an 8GB jump is their standard operating procedure. It's nothing to do with the tech and everything with sales/marketing strategy.
