Last year July ... we got this for $3.09 + tax with all the coupons and discounts. I know we can't expect that now

FWIW, my Costco has them for $14.89, but your point still stands. (14.9¢ ea vs 19.4¢ ea)

Anyone have a tablet recommendation for softened water? Currently using cascade platinum but the glass etching is severe.

I have negative experiences, will be switching over to hard tablets. For some reason these soft packs always stuck, stick to the dosing compartment. I tired restarting dishwasher.

Just throw them in the bottom of the dishwasher. My tray broke off years ago.

We had an issue with glasses etching. I turned down the water heater to about 125 degrees and that solved it. Have you checked your water temp lately? We didn't have it much higher before, maybe 135-140, so even a small change can help. Dishes still come out perfectly clean, just no etching of the glasses.

Just get the basic powder if you can find it. Or liquid if no powder available. It works just as well. If you have soft water it's especially better as you can use less detergent anyways.
