This has half the ram the 86U Pro or 88U Pro. If it matters to you, this has 6E, not sure of the others I listed (im thinking not).

I'm having lot of trouble with AI Mesh this past week. The node router in mesh mode actually slows down the whole system and I keep getting disconnected/reconnects every few mins.

The system was running well before with different SSIDs for each band and as Access Point instead of the mesh. The Smart connect plus mesh has made me lose confidence in Asus.

Was looking to get a new router but thinking about a different one that can work with the entire house without the hassle of Mesh.

I bought this router just over a year ago. So far not one hiccup. It just works! I used the Asus app to set it up. Very easy. Two reasons I went with Asus are... 1 Asus supports their routers for a long time with firmware updates. 2 you get free lifetime network protection. I like things that don't give me a hard time, or cause headaches. I must say this has been one of the better tech purchases in my life. Just so you know I'm using this with a 500 Mbps down fiber connection in an 1100 square foot house. This is my 5th or 6th router and by far the best. Hope this helps. Take care.

Asus good for standalone so get the one with higher range or go for Orbi if mesh is must have
