Best Buy has this on sale for $249.99. I have not seen this low of a price except at the end of September on Newegg.

Best Buy also has a combo deal for 25% off Samsung 990 PRO 2TB Internal SSD NVMe for total of $127.49 if you add it to your cart with this cpu. This is a really good price for the SSD if you happen to want one. (you can go to the cpu webpage and click the "Hot Offer Save 25% on select Samsung SSD with CPU".

Was thinking about buying this exact CPU for my new rig (upgrading from an i9-9900k). Is there any reason I shouldn't?

I have one and have the corrosion issue. I can't play certain games due to it and now working with Intel to get it replaced.

No thats 14th gen but Intel has said its been fixed for 14th gen now. It just comes down to how much you trust if they really did fix it

Every motherboard manufacturer should have a microcode out for this that solves the crashing issue. Even if you do have the issue, Intel is warrantying the chips. It's not really a risk to worry about anymore. https://www.theverge.com/2024/8/1...more-years

Edit: I've got skin in this game, and own a 13700 (non-k). I never had an issue, but applied the microcode updates via BIOS/UEFI updates.
