At $500, may be worth trying out. I live my steam deck but would like to try something a little bit more powerful.
While I haven't tried this handheld, I have the Ayaneo Geek which I believe is close in power. It immensely helps some titles out. 40fps on Elden Ring is much smoother and responsive over Steam deck's locked 30 or up to 35.
I love mine. Used it along with a 65w charger on a coast to coast trip, no issues. Okays Xbox game pass and PC games, that alone is worth it over a steamdeck, which my friends and brother have. Love mine, functions as a laptop so I can do work when travelling.

It certainly can would be more powerful but at the cost of the battery life, and you probably won't get 60 fps without upscale or the other bells and whistle. so, with that being said, IMO, the additional performance you can get over the steam deck isn't worth it for the cost. if performance is all that you care for.
I upgraded from the steam deck to the legion go. that 8.8-inch screen sold me. im attached to the wall charger after an hour or so. Just like the steam deck or even the rog Ally z1e.

I would recommend getting controller grips for these as its not very comfortable compared to others. That being said i love the size of the screen. I play mostly at home in bed or couch so battery life isnt a issue for me since i always keep it plugged. I bought a like new condition on amazon for $445 with 5% back using prime card and extra 6% cb using delayed shipping so after tax itll be around $420
Biggest plus for me, which I completely realize is niche, is egpu capabilities. I have it hooked up to a 3080 in an Akitio Node Titan and it rips for tv play
I just bought the Rog Ally Z1E open box for 350 2 weeks ago. I really liked the bigger screen and controls on this. Much difference other then that? Thanks
The VVR on the Ally is the biggest difference besides what you mentioned. A lot of games dip below 60 fps on these handhelds, and VRR makes the experience a lot smoother.

What makes this the best DEAL is that this is 499 vs 800 for the Ally X.

Also some people just take the tablet portion and use it as a portable PC

I don't see the item sold on instacart through any of the merchants.
