They are extremely compatible in rasterisation performance. Certainly if ray tracing interests you then Nvidia does a better job, but at this level of GPU I would not recommend using it at all because of the performance hit. This is a pretty solid deal and would be a fantastic 1080p gaming machine that could also handle 1440p with reduced settings on demanding games.

Make sure to check for money back opportunities too before purchase (can't mention any by name bc I'll end up in Slickdeals jail)

I've built a 7600x/7600xt machine a few months ago and it plays any game at 1440.

I built this exact setup, it performs quite well for what it is. The 7600 does quite well, in games like cyberpunk I can run it at 1440 on high sliders and hover around 100 fps no problems. Like another said, nvidia is the company you want if you care about raytracing, but with cards of the level, raytracing shouldn't even be a consideration unless you are cool playing games at sub 20 fps.

For all things 1080 and most things 1440p, this is a decent setup. Add another 16 gigs of ram and you are good to go.

For those that don't mind building, the new egg bundle deal would be cheaper and better spec
