CVS Info:

First of all, you will need a CVS ExtraCare card. This is obtained easily at any store at the register. Some will ask you to fill out the form then and there, others will just give you the card and ask you to return the form later.

Once you have the card, you can now start CVSing

The biggest thing to understand is that CVS uses a promotional program called ExtraCare Bucks (commonly abbreviated as ECBs.) These print out on your receipt immediately once you purchase an item offering them; almost like an instant-rebate you get at the register. You can turn around and use them anytime on almost anything in the store, except for alcohol, cigarettes, and gift cards.

Often, CVS advertises items as Free after ECB For example, throughout the month of November, CVS has Crest Pro Health Whitening Toothpaste in 4.2 oz size, for free after ECB. The cost is $3.49, but you get $3.49 back instantly on your receipt. The best part is that there are often coupons available that can actually help you earn money like for the above toothpaste, there are $1 off coupons available, meaning the item would be $2.49, but you get $3.49 in ECBs back. The limit on this toothpaste for this month is 2. So if you wanted to start off small to get into CVSing, the thing to do would be to buy one toothpaste in the first transaction (and use a coupon if you have one, so that you either pay $3.49 or $2.49 in cash), then use the $3.49 ECBs you get back from that first transaction to pay for the second tube of toothpaste, and again, receive $3.49 more in ECBs.

The trick now is to roll your ECBs so that you rarely pay more than maybe a dollar or two in tax on transactions, instead using your ECBs from previous transactions then earning more to keep doing the same. Its a cycle (and a game/addiction to some, lol.)

Yea we've had it pretty good this year as far as snowfall, but we got some realllly cold temps. A few weekends ago the windchill was -15/20 EEK!

NM..now they are saying 6 or more maybe, and wind gusts of 40-55mph..Ranting

Also says we've only got like 14 inches this year..so Jan/Feb..laugh out loud

Technically we only got 17" this last snowfall, but practically it was 20-30" (the snowfall is measured at the airport, but we live 20 mins away, and it was much heavier here)

Cool pictures. Especially the one with the tree across the road.

Hey, I've been wanting to ask you a question, actually. When it snows here I go outside at night and if the moon is out it's really beautiful. It's almost so light out you can read (from the moon reflecting off the snow). Is there anyway to take a picture of that? I don't want to use a flash because I like the light how it is...but if I don't use a flash the picture is just black and you can't make out anything.

Thanks.

Yes there is, but you need a tripod or tripod like structure (a handrail where you could place your camera without worrying it's going to fall, a garbage can (place the camera on the lid, not inside laugh out loud), or bring a bag/book/etc. and place it on the snow, etc.).

You also need to turn off the flash in your camera (different camera's have different ways of doing it).

More advanced tips if you want (you can use none, either one of them or both together)
1. Set a timer before you take the shot, so that when you're clicking the button for the shot you don't shake the camera while it's taking the shot and make it blurry. (with a timer you "vibrate" the camera by your clicking to activate the timer NOT to take the shot, so by the time the camera takes the shot, its' done "shaking"/"vibrating")

2. You still need to use all of the above, but in addition set your camera to use the lowest ISO possible (if your camera is sufficistcated enough for you to change it (a lot of point&shoot cameras are, you don't need an SLR for this)). Otherwise the shots will come out noisy due to it being dark outside. If you use a tripod, they wont blur, but they'll be noisy. If you can change the ISO and use a tripod, the time it takes for the camera to take the picture will be longer, but the shots will have less noise in them.

That did, thanks Smilie I wish I had asked you that question when we had all that snow, lol. We're supposed to get some by the weekend I think though.

Yeah, that didn't bother me at all. Stuff like burned or frozen bodies freaks me out.
