They don't make anything higher than 1440p on 34" OLED screens at this time. Supposedly in Q4 2025 (~October) we'll begin seeing 5120x2160 34" monitors.

I think you're wrong. My 34" Alienware OLED is simply amazing.

It's not standard 32 inches it's ultra wide and it looks perfectly fine you don't need 4k. 1440 p is the sweet spot for pc gaming

Maybe I'm wrong, but 1440p at 34" seems not great. I have a 31.5" monitor at 1440p and it's already a little bit fuzzy. I'd want to be at 4K at this size, personally.

I think it is fine, 34inch 1440p ultrawide has a similar ppi 109.68 to a 27inch standard 1440p monitor (108.79 ppi). At 31.5 inch standard 1440p monitor, the ppi is 93.24 which does make text a bit fuzzy.

How the USB C on these? Do they support peripherals like a keyboard and mouse to be connected to it? Like the idea of OLED for the deep blacks and colors but the practical choice for productivity is probably a Dell with KVM built in

Wrong. A 34" ultrawide isn't that far off from a 27" 1440p monitor. About the same vertical dimension for screen size.

I was debating between this and the Dell S3423DWC which is $420 and has a built in KVM hub for all accessories. Went for the Samsung because I like OLED and the design of the monitor. The Dell is probably the better productivity monitor but the SDer in me felt the Samsung was the better deal since it was $470 after coupons and over 60% off MSRP.

I am also wanting to know if the Oled is good for productivity. I do music, video, art, but I use text constantly so it wouldn't be great losing sharpness. Coming from an Apple iMac monitor so no matter what, it may be underwhelming. Thoughts?

A 4k @21" or 5k 27" iMac monitor will be a bit more detailed, but 1440p is the vertical resolution regardless of width. Now, crispness… it will look sharp if you send a picture at the screen's native resolution, a bit fuzzy if it has to downscale from 4k.

I have a VA panel in 1440p and 34" wide; sharpness is not one of my downsides. My PS5 doesn't properly recognize it as a 1440p monitor and won't let me select that resolution, there are black bars on the sides because the PS5 (and YouTube videos, etc) does not have that ultrawide ratio, mine does not have a USB-C video input and the USB hub it DOES have only features two USB A ports… but it's the best computer monitor I've had. For my Mac, it's replaced having two separate monitors (and the OS animated wallpapers look STUNNING) and it's great to throw around multiple windows and apps without notifications covering things up. I like the curve, it makes every part of the screen be equidistant from my seating position. I'm not losing my mouse. When I switch from Mac to docking my Steam Deck, one USB cable lets me switch my keyboard and mouse to the handheld. 1440p is a great resolution balance between performance and pretty, and at my viewing distance it's honestly hard to tell the resolution difference to my 4k iMac. The Samsung here is tempting me anyway, because OLED is great and I like the extra features here.

This person prefers the ultra-wide and will never go back. For gaming it significantly ups the level of immersion. For productivity work it's roughly equivalent to having a pair of smaller monitors without having to mess with the extra cables and screen management stuff in the OS. Once my coworkers saw me using a 34" UW they all pretty much went out and bought one.
