If you crossflash it to BP60NB10, you can get faster speeds (for the same price). Downgrading the firmware (it has to be a BP60NB10 to work) makes it into a "4K friendly blu-ray drive" (can read 4K Blu-rays.
You can get instructions for this at the "Ultimate UHD Drives Flashing Guide Updated 2024" on the makemkv forums. Make sure you use Marty's SDF GUI (as I did).
Also for anyone looking to burn your own discs, be sure you're familiar with the Blu-ray standards if you want to play on a Blu-ray player. Also it'd be in your best interest to acquire some rewritable discs since it's easy to mess up.

Also it's worth noting that I've had the player spin up on a single usb port but I imagine there's a reason it wants two. I'll test old a single usb port and see if it work and edit with the result
Edit: I was able to playback a Blu-ray using a single usb 3.0 port. Might need two usb ports for usb 2.0
