not true at all.
28" 4K no scaling is the sweetspot, for ergonomics.

It's $180...

People really have nothing better to do than parrot these statements over and over day after day? I wish I could get dopamine hits that easily.

That's a 2K monitor, this is 4K.

i'm not an expert, but since the everyday price is normally just $249, i kinda doubt this model has the specs equal to or better then those pricier models you mentioned. if not, please correct me.
🤦
that's why i asked in the first place why it's so cheap!

Yes. Any halfway decent 4K monitor will work well, and it appears this monitor gets batch calibration, so it is definitely halfway decent.
Not true. Weirdly there was a high end Dell I had that wouldn't work well on Mac's. Didn't realize until I called support. Thought they were agnostic

that was my point, a $73 price drop isn't abnormal at this time of year. meaning the $177 isn't far off what i would expect when this would be on sale in november/december. it's pretty much priced like other monitors of it's quality. overstock could be driving it's price down. it seems like a decent value.

I thought more hz is better for the eyes.
That was on CRT when a ray gun was physicallly illuminating the picture components (pixels but not pixels…). The higher refresh eased eye strain.
With LED/LCD it's irrelevant as the light source is constant for most monitors. With OLED or LED using PWM, it can be an issue… but that's another topic entirely.

So in LCD/LED more hz helps eliminate motion blur in fast video and games?

Sort of. Games can run at high frame rates as long as you have the GPU to run it.

Movies and TV and recorded media are at fixed frame rates no matter what GPU or monitor you have so you'll still see blur. Some TV's and monitors have frame interpolation functions where they'll try to add frames in-between to eliminate motion blur, but usually they look bad and end up with a "soap opera" effect.

I just pulled the trigger on 3 and a base model M4 Mac Mini. I'm sure it'll be fine for my purposes. Replacing my 12 year old home office i7-3770 build with 3x 1080p 24" monitors. With cables and a dock for my wired mechanical keyboard and mouse it comes in under $1200 - slightly less than the iPhone 16 Pro Max I've been eyeballing.

just arrived and connected via usb-c to display port (from rear port on m4 mini) and it looks bright and crisp coming from a 24" 1080p. resolution has defaulted to 1080p which seems appropriate for my viewing distance, but other resolutions look sharp as well (with warning it could affect performance?).

It looks like a decent deal, but for $50 more, does anyone think this is a better deal?

https://www.amazon.com/LG-27SR75U...merReviews

It has USB-C and is also 4k and has the apps like hulu/netflix.

Yes, it's a good deal too but I saved the $50 since my need for basic use and work tasks - didn't need the apps and remote control. And the bezel is all white - don't think I could have looked at that frame for several hours at a time.

Oooh that makes sense. Never considered the white bezel would be a bit rougher on the eyes. Good point
