How did you manage to use that much extra punctuation, yet not put one actual period to break up this pile of word vomit?
I bought this from Walmart for the same price a few weeks back. Really did my research before purchasing this. Was looking for a 34-inch ultrawide to replace two 24-inch FHD monitors I was using for WFH, which could also double as a gaming monitor and for watching movies from time-to-time. Kept going back and forth between this and the Alienware OLED 34 inch. I saw both at Microcenter. And while the Alienware looked noticeably better when I watched an HDR YouTube video, I couldn't get past the text fringing, which I know will bother me since I use Word and Excel 70% of my time when working.
Besides, the display on this is really, really good for IPS. A pleasure to look at. I don't think you'll find a better jack-of-all-trades monitor than this, especially for the price. Everything looks sharp with accurate colors and more brightness than most will ever need. I have it connected using DP and it does 144hz 10-bit for smooth gaming and movie-watching without blurring. Great decision to go with this over the Alienware for my needs and at half the price too.
Depends on what you are doing with your monitor. If you often do photo creation (Photoshop) then the ips would be a big deal because you WILL notice color inaccuracies if you're used to dealing with color palettes.

If you're a gamer, IPS has a slight edge in motion blur/less ghosting.

If you're into watching media content like movies the VA panel will be vastly superior due to its much better contrast ratio. Blacks look washed out on IPS. If you've ever used your monitor at night in a pitch black room you will really notice the greyness of an ips panel's black level.

If all you are using this monitor for is for computer work in Microsoft Excel/word/ etc either panel will work just fine.

Great monitor! I've been using this for a couple of years, and I got it for $600 on sale back then. This is a great deal.

I have this monitor too and I love it. Super bright and it is great for gaming and productivity. I actually got the Alienware AW3423DWF and I opted to keep this LG because the text is so crisp and it felt brighter than the Alienware.

So I think I'm pushing my quest for the best price/quality 75-100' mini led/OLED 120hz tv until summer bcuz my buddy is giving me his 65' Vizio M series ( yes only 60hz but I'm dying on a 5yr old 42' Hisense so for a free upgrade it's worth to wait out my ideal tv price until summer IMHO - here is my ? 2all the efficient shrewd fiscally responsible elite SDers - is this monitor the best price/quality combo for my PS5 pro that I'm getting within a month ? Ikno ikno ikno this is a first world problem , but I'm not tech savvy adjusting settings w/ pcs so imo a PS5 pro is less hassle, will this monitor max out my PS5 pro experience & does any SDer know of a best price /quality speaker set i can get w/ this? Also kinda OT but am I wrong that TV's w/ 120hz will ALWAYS drop in price thus ride my pals Vizio M series out & I get more specs & size cheaper in my "ideal" TV the longer I wait ? Thanks to all that reply , I respect the hell outta the SDers w/ their impeccable high standards for best quality & price for everything, BUT especially electronics, specifically TV's & monitors- yes ideally want a best quality /price mini led/OLED 120hz 75'-100' tv ( ikno ikno Capt obvious over here - like who doesn't want that when looking @ tvs & monitors?) but i feel riding out a high end 3-4 year old vizio m series for free upgrading from a 42' 5yr old hisense is the best option bcuz its a HUGE upgrade 4me w/ sports( cable ) & utube vids & I can spend only 3-500$ on a killer monitor 4my ps5 pro & get my "dream" tv in 6-24 months thus way more specs & size for way less $ - replies w/ thoughts opinions concerns & critiques are much appreciated & yes ikno ikno ikno im pretty blessed to have this 1st world problem , what a time to be alive 😁

Edit- I have pasted this comment on a few different monitor threads, not trying to clog up the comment section, it's just I appreciate the knowledge integrity & perseverance of y'all SDers when it comes to giving opinions on what the best rato of quality/ up to date technology/price when it comes to monitors & TV's

So many decent monitor deals that my head is spinning. This is kind of the sweet price area I was expecting to spend on a new monitor for a new PC setup, but I am just unsure of what the best options are for gaming. This one seems to up there though..

This post shows it has USB-C. Don't think this has USB-C. Not on the LG website.

I bought this monitor in 2020 for $700 and it is worth every penny. Do not get the VA version! This IPS display is very nice with no ghosting. Incredible value at this price!!!

I got the MSI G274QPF from Costco for $150 and I'm happy with the display size; besides the larger/curved display, is it worth returning for this LG monitor? This has a slightly lower refresh rate but I'm wondering if the display quality is noticably better for $170 more.
I can really only tell displays apart if they're side by side so I'm unsure if this is a worthy upgrade considering they're both IPS.
