BestBuy has a tendency to put out one of these drives on deal (ie: $250 for this one), so people rush out and buy it.. only to drop the price on another drive later on (like 18TB for $179, or 22TB for $229). My guess is that they try to get a higher sale out of these initial offers and then scoop up some additional sales of better-discounted versions in the coming weeks.

This is more of just a heads-up that if you buy this you might want to hang onto the packaging/box in case a better deal comes up and you end up doing an exchange.
Total came out to $232.50 (excluding tax)

Don't forget Amex has $25 off $250.

Also GCGranny or CardBear can give you 7% off Best Buy gift cards.
Careful with enterprise drives if your NAS/DAS isn't tucked away somewhere that you can't hear or see it. Enterprise drives tend to be much louder than commercial/consumer drives.

What's the return policy if unopened and if a better deal comes up.

I think the 18TB price last year was a welcome anomaly. Hope there is a similar one this year for BF. We are technically still in the pre-BF sales, and the prices will hopefully go down some more for the high capacity easystore HDDs. :fingers_crossed:
Sadly this is marked as "Black Friday Deal"

Too lazy to go to BB's website to look for yourself?

last year all the great sales happened in OCT
Not saying BF will be better, but your statement simply isn't true. The $200 18TB Easystore deal was in November, while in October BB's deal was a 16TB for $224.

Limit is 3. I bought 2 since I need even numbers. Will buy 2 more from Amazon if they lower it

Same Hardware, but a special fireware limit its reading down to ~200MB/s, make it 5400RPM like.
They also have reduced seek speeds, which help keep them quieter.

Where did (or would) you get your used enterprise drives, if you don't mind me asking? I'm interested in getting 4 to 6 20tb or 22tb drives, so any cost saving would quickly add up.
Manufacturer recertified drives from ServerPartDeals [serverpartdeals.com] or goHardDrive's Ebay store are popular.

Are these 5400 or 7200 rpm drives?
They likely spin at 7200RPM, even though their throughput is reduced ~20%.

20TB Elements was $280 more than 1.5 years ago. It should be way cheaper than $250 at this point:

What's the excuse this time? If it's not a giant factory flooding, it's those idiots mining chia, inflation, supply chain issues due to covid
Both WD and Seagate have raised hard drive prices this year and warn that further increases are likely. I believe the excuse is AI.

That was the lame paid-members-only deal. The same deal that was available to anyone wasn't available until after midway through November:https://slickdeals.net/share/android_app/fp/888466

So much for all the good deals were in October last year.

Sadly, this years deals are late and aren't much better than last year. I don't think they will have a $200 hard drive like last year.

What program do folks use for auto back up? I am looking for a simple set and forget type of program.

For MacOS use Time Machine, for Windows try Macrium Reflect.
