Trying to figure out why the deal's not getting much traction - maybe due to being a 2023 model? The 2024 model (QM7) is $699, so quite a step up, pricewise.

Picture is pretty good. Definitely better than anything else at this price range.
I don't have the same issue with app performance as another user commented. Using the main streaming platforms is smooth without delay.
It can be confusing to set up for gaming. It doesn't work right out of the box for anything above 60fps properly. You have to plug in a gaming source, turn it on, then change the HDMI properties, then turn on game mode. Really odd but after you go through that you're all set up to 120. I can't vouch for 144 or higher.
VRR flicker exists for anything over 60. I have never noticed a difference in my Xbox series x performance with vrr on or off so I just disabled vrr.
Gaming performance and input lag is really good for a TV.
If you're looking for a 55-65" TV that can provide a solid picture and gaming performance this is really a no brainer.
The qm7 is a better TV is it a few hundred dollars better? Perhaps if it's you're main tv and you're really picky about PQ.
Plenty of solid value 55" sets well under $300, with the 55" TCL mini-led holding hard at $500 (also too much).
Hisense 55" mini-led is currently $350.
Fixed on 55", I say go with a sub $300 deal if it's not critical, maybe consider the Hisense in the middle, or hope the 55" TCL mini-led drops and spring for it. Mini-led is basically my bare minimum now for any set I intend to use a lot.

All the mini-leds I have are TCL, and I've not seen a regular led I consider close, much less any other regular led TCL or hisense. A regular led with excellent processing gets close (like a Sony) but you get other issues like blooming and the cost runs same or higher than the TCL mini leds. Better just to have the contrast performance in the panel tech.
55" TCL mini leds have been as low as $300 in the past, though the regular price seems to be around $500 with the Q series.
My main point is I don't personally see a use where I'd pick a $400 55" led TCL in today's market. I'd either go cheap with the 4 or 5 series type TCL/competitors or suck it up and spring for the mini led.
