Having dealt with that myself, and done my own controller repairs for years, do you have another version you'd recommend, or a third party one? Not all my controllers have issues (they are all official Xbox controllers), but that is one of the ones that has popped up a couple times.

There is some other type of controller...iirc, it uses a halo analog stick I THINK. thing is, I have some non MS controller that uses the typical type of analog stick and I have zero issues with them. I have the elite and I love the feel in my hand so I wish they'd just cave and upgrade what they need to. The controllers I have that haven't gotten stick drift is a turtle Beach Recon and a PowerA Fusion Pro, both wired, and I'm sure there are others.

If ur gonna go with MS, and you play MP shooter games or maybe fighting games with stressful stick movement, get an extended warranty. Best buy used to have a 4 yr ext warranty for $35...it's now 2 yrs for $60. MS has a better ext warranty iirc.
