This is an excellent find, I fully expect this to be FP very quickly.
The STARLINK MINI never goes on sale (this is not the starlink standard which has gone on sale for $299 before, this is the MINI version). I have never ever seen the MINI on sale.

Combine with Amex deal, making it $425. Or you can combine with the Chase Paypal 5% quarterly thing as well.

Side Note: You can very easily make a rugged and portable starlink mini kit with a power bank, and it will all fit inside of an Apache 3800 from Harbor Freight (a little tight), or you can get the Apache 4800 and it will have plenty of room for the foam padding.
Also, due to the lower price from the sale, the Best Buy Product Replacement Plan is $69.99 instead of the higher price. Normally I'm not a fan of these types of things, but for this I highly recommend getting it. Use Amex, which adds 1 yr on top of that, so then you have 5 yrs of coverage even for cables and accessories which come with it. Starlink itself doesn't even offer a comparable plan at any price.

I'm looking for reliable internet access after hurricanes. We have a generator for power, but our internet typically takes a few days to kick back on after a storm. Is it worth paying $100 extra for the Mini? Does the Mini have inferior or more expensive data plans than standard one? It seems the Mini has more use cases, so I'm leaning that way as it seems to provide more flexibility?

The hardware needs to be $99 to get people in urban areas to switch. Rural I can see the point but this is out of reach for most Americans due to price point.

same boat here. Im ONLY gonna use this if my internet is out - wish I could pay like $5 a month as long as I dont use it, and then charge me like $50-100 for the months I do. Id even pay the upfront cost of this dish.

Hoping i can eventually have ONE cell provider who reaches my house in the next few years!

Starlink lets you to that. They call it pause service, you pay $0 during that time, then just activate when you need it.

This service is for people like my dad who still has nothing available to him except 320 kbps dsl which hasn't been upgraded in 20 years. If you have cable or fiber this isn't going to compete with that but going from paying 90 bucks a month to verizon for that barely usable dsl to paying for this and getting 150 down is a god tier upgrade.

I will only use starlink in emergency's or tailgating. Should I get the mini or the standard? I see the standard has a $100 1 time service credit for service addresses in specific states (I tailgate in one of those states) so would only need to pay $20 for the first month of service (as I read it) and then (I think) move to roam when I need it later.. I am just trying to decide which model to get. I did read that there is some advantage to having the standard as it has a separate router which can be placed closer to the users even if the dish has to be placed further away.

Any thoughts or advice would be appreciated.
