In my experience, the "M" is added after the tools switched to Metabo. Without the "M" it would be Hitachi.

I just bought the milwaukee m12 for $230 last night since I have the batteries, this price difference though is making me consider returning it and buying this. Has anyone compared the two?

For $99 you can't go wrong, this should help with your decision:

I actually saw that video, and a couple others. The answer was quite clear. This is supposed to be a finish nailer, but hte metabo finishes last. The milwaukee finishes clean and consistent.
It's a shame, but it seems that in this case, you get what you pay for.
If I had both, I'd never use anything other than the milwaukee. If I just had the metabo, I'd go buy the milwaukee. It's as simple as that.

Yeah that makes sense! For casual use I think most people will be happy with the Metabo since it has everything you need but for professional use I can see the value of the Milwaukee's more consistent results.
If you have the batteries there a really good deal on the M18 version of the nailer for about $230 if you hadn't seen it:

Everything I have is in the m12, so I went with m12. The power and lightness of the system is fantastic. I have a good amount of trim work coming up with my basement being finished, and my pancake compressor died which drives my air nailer. Rather than replace the compressor, I replaced the gun with the milwaukee. So far I'm very happy with the results.

Thanks will be getting mine as soon as the store pickup order processes. I had to bite at this price. I at one time had the Dewalt version but got tired of the bulk and decided to switch to air. I'm now tired of getting out the bulky heavy air compressor and this fits the bill. It does look more comfortable, compact and lighter than my previous Dewalt.

That's a different nail gun. This is a newer cheaper version. It's mechanical spring vs air spring. It's heavier, shoots slower, and only has 5 year vs lifetime warranty. But for 99$ with battery It's not bad.

Thinking of using it in-house sometimes. Do I need to oil it? I see it is only single fire one.

No oil, it is battery operated. Oil is only needed for air tools
