Got this about a year ago for a similar price. Use it for either work and/or gaming almost every day, have experienced 0 issues from the monitor. Assuming it doesn't crap out, I don't envision needing to replace it as my main monitor for many years.
This is an incredible monitor on paper, but this monitor is well known to have serious QC issues. Particularly with scanlines Maybe those issues have been fixed, but if you really want a 4K/240 Hz, you are better off spending a little extra and getting a QD-OLED. There have been some great sales on those as of later. Particularly those from MSI.
Having said that, this is easily the best motion performance I have ever seen on a VA panel and is proof that VA can be every bit as responsive as TN or IPS when properly tuned. Most monitors dont properly tune VA panels.
My experience with Samsung monitors has not been great.
Lots of complaints on the G8. The g7 doesn't have the issues and is $100. Cheaper right now

BS! I was in the same boat but me being me had to have the best got g8. NEVER could MAKE it to see the lines. Have it for 4 months now.
Have been debating between getting the G7 and G8 for a month now.
Partly for the same reason as zhoker, wanted the "best" version- so initially G8.
But since 240hz actually does not matter to me- would not be doing any pc gaming, strictly console (PS5),120hz is max I would be running, figured I'd save money and go G7 (of course that also means scan line issue of G8 would not matter as it's only noticeable at 240hz.)
The G8 has slightly better peak brightness, but in real world viewing does not make a difference.
The G7 housing is supposedly actually a bit better than the G8 (thoughI like the design of the G8 housing better- particularly the more streamlined speaker grills- I am that nitpicky).
The thing that has me leaning back to the G8 is it's improved anti-reflective coating.
I recently upgraded from the Galaxy Tab S9 Ultra to S10 Ultra and the difference in anti-reflection immediately noticeable.

The anti reflection coating is great and I love it on my s24 and s10 but the colors do look muted but overall I'd rather have it than not.
However, for Samsung monitors like the new 32" oled, ive read than the coating gives is a smearing look and that things do not look sharp.
Ok my phone, tablet and laptop it looks great so Im not sure how it's different on the monitor. Might be a good idea to do best buy pickup so you can return it easier

I noticed the lines when I was scrolling facebook and certain ads would come on and as well as this ad for an orange truck... After that I started noticing it everywhere
I just saw this deal. I tried signing in with my workplace which says "qualifies" but only got 680 off for a total estimate of $619 instead of the quoted $480. is it due to my workplace or has the deal gotten worse?

Deal is dead, that's why your price is higher.

- Yeah I am way overthinking.
