I settled on a Yamaha A2A when it was on sale for $450 around 4 or 5 months ago. So far so good.
Well that Yama is only 7.2 and includes no DIRAC -- so that's pretty far from matching the features/specs of this Integra.

Can this one process 11 channels and do 7.1.4 with additional amplification? (Like the rz50). Or is it strictly 9 channels ie 7.1.2 or 5.1.4? (1 sub woofer)
My surround speakers are Mirage Nanosats and will also be my Atmos channels (at least on my first build)

This is strictly 9 channels, mono subs.

FYI the RZ50 can process 11, 10 & 11 are not assignable, it also has mono subs(1 subwoofer).

Maybe if I was strung out on meth and trying to pawn it for Jellyroll tickets.

There is no reciever at this price with 9 channels, pre outs, HDMI 2.1 on all ports, and Dirac built in. Also higher grade components compared to similar Onkyo and Pioneer models.
Jelly is sold out. Upchurch all day. But I agree that this receiver is awesome 👍🏻

Will PS5/Series X VRR work connected to this AVR instead of to tv?

It's still available and I'm doing my best to resist.

Not sure how much longer I can hold out.

For me it's more of a want than a need.

My RX-A740 still works fine for my simple 5.1 setup.

What are you thinking the Integra would get you over the Yamaha?

@GingerBear
Just curious, what brand TV are you using with this Integra?

Newness, mostly. The Yamaha is 10 years old. The Yamaha doesn't have Bluetooth so I have to use an add on BT receiver if I want to use BT. The Yamaha does have a network setting so when I play songs from a playlist on a computer I can send it through the receiver.

The Yamaha is a 7.2 but I have never added a second sub or the additional 2 surrounds so the Integra would likely be overkill for me, but it's new!

Keep in mind that if countries are hit with tariffs then nearly all electronics will cost more next year. I think it's worth the upgrade for BT, Dirac, and the protection from a 10yr old AVR from going out on you when there isn't a sale or availability of a AVR like this one.

You can use the extra channels for two more zones in your house - kitchen, office/study. If you have power hungry speakers you can use the pre outs to externally amplify your main speakers. The Behringer A800 is $199 and provides ~140 watts a channel RMS (x2) and ~250 watts peak per channel. It's a class D amplifier so only weighs about 10 pounds and doesn't get hot even though it's passively cooled.

I think the Integra DRX 3.4 + the Behringer A800 is a better overall setup over the RZ50 unless one needs the extra 2 channels and/or Dirac Live Bass Control.

For those who have this receiver I have a few questions.

1. Is the crossover global or per speaker set?
2. What are the crossover settings?
3. Does it come with full range Dirac?
4. How long does the black screen last when you switch inputs?
5. Can the internal amps be turned off?

I have a pioneer Lx505 and knew going in, it only had a global crossover, but I didn't know there were no settings between 80 and 50 hz. To me, it feels like it tastes a few seconds too long for the HDMI to show picture.

1. Per speaker set.
2. 40 Hz to 200 Hz.
3. Full range Dirac Live but no support for Dirac Live Bass Control which RZ30/50/70 and DRX 5.4/8.4 have for an added cost.
4. Currently using one input. Waiting for longer HDMI cable to arrive to connect PC.
5. No, you can't turn off the internal amps. The only AVR in this price range that allows disabling of the internal amps is the Marantz Cinema 70s (recertified price + 25% discount code, when active).

Does the ability to turn off the internal amps of the AVR, when using the preouts have any audible benefit to the sound quality or is it something "nice to have" ??
