If you have been here long enough dealing with Adorama stuff, you would know there is a way to check. We don't want them to find out and fix so nobody reveals.

So if I got this and wanted to run 7.2.4, could I do so with this AVR and additional amplifier?

Nope...it can only process a max of 9 channels (as has been stated several times).

In the OP, under features, 2nd highlight it says "9.2-ch multichannel pre-outs".

The 4th picture of the back would show it also but not a great picture and hard to see.

Can anyone recommend good speakers that will work well with this unit? How about those reference speakers that were on sale a few days ago? Looking to build out a home theater system.
I think it's generally accepted that most Klipsch speakers should present an easy load for this AVR to drive, but I'm not speaking from experience (yet).

I set this up a couple weeks ago when i remodeled my house. I went with all in-wall/in-ceiling speakers except the subwoofer (wife was not keen on my "bachelor" pad and big floor speakers).. I will say.. sounds great, much better than expected. Direc live works well to correct the room. If you want the best experience using direc, get the minidsp mic and a mic stand to properly move the mic around to the various points in the seating area. My advice is to not move the mic very far from where you will be sitting. about 20" side to side and front to back. Direc only needs a few positions to generate a filter.

I had this briefly when it came out. It's worth about $450.
Where does your valuation of 450 come from? It seems like a great deal at 580....

Anyone have any thoughts on if this is a big enough upgrade over an VSX-LX303? I seems like the main things are DIRAC and the HDMI 2.1 updates? (Which may be bigger than I am thinking). I think I paid about $500 for the pioneer back in 2018?

Can't beat it at this price point. Not sure why they had to make it look like it came out in 1995 though
Imagine adding a Crown XLS amplifier to it

Yes there are few other things also.
Here is a comparison of the two.
