It also added a new subwoofer setting/RC(directional) that works very much like DLBC/ART.
Many are finding out about the new script A1EVO!
It's so impressive they realize Dirac is no longer needed especially considering the cost.
Only cost the purchase of the $20 Editor app which imo is pretty much mandatory with Audyssey anyways.

If I move to a house with a larger HT space I would likely want to upgrade to 7.2.4 (and maybe 7.4.4) - it would be painful to have to buy a new receiver for that, especially if I already purchased a Dirac license for my previous receiver. The Denon has me covered for a long time I would think.

Even with the RZ50, channels 10 & 11 are not assignable like the 3800.
Having used A1EVO a few times, it is a game changer for Audyssey imo!
I still give Dirac the slight edge but only if you have DLBC.
Even then, not sure you actually needed it especially on a budget.
It's nice to know they are both there if you ever decided you wanted them in the future and not forced to pay for it.
Dirac included at no charge...DLBC if you need it and a heck of a lot more robust in the amp/power supply department
About the same price( or less) after you have to add all those add ons for Dirac , external amp etc
Best AVR under $3K according to Gene at Audioholics

If you plan to only needing more(nicer) power for just your L/R, external amps a better long term option in my experience.
They are often much more efficient(better) than internal amps, don't become obsolete, more versatile & you have many choices.
You only have to pay for the speakers that actually need it rather than paying for all of them.
As you pointed out only needing cheap amps for surrounds, why pay for 140 watts.
If Dirac is important, no such rumors that the RZ70 will get ART & won't support 4 independent sub outs.
DL+BC on the RZ70 is $2300 right now, you likely wouldn't miss it with A1EVO, that's just $20!
Denon is also doing 20% Dirac options using HOLIDAY24 code.
With these likely price hikes coming for the next 4 years, might not see these prices for awhile.

I really don't need anything more than an NR7100 and when you look at past/current deals on NR7100, RZ50 and then the LX-305/LX-505 you could say that spending more for the same money for the same or less features doesn't make sense. Not enough real reviews on the RZ30 to know for certain but want to make a decision before those potential tariffs jack up all the prices.
Not opposed to Denon either, had that before switching to Onkyo/Pioneer many years ago but everyone says Dirac Live is just way better in general then Audyssey. Don't know anything about that A1 EVO one click Audyssey tuning stuff though. Don't think DLBC as an option will be a huge deal since I'm just single sub although I've seen people say even for that it's noticeable.

I wouldn't listen to all the silly rhetoric.
The power limiting only applies to 4&6ohm speakers the rest has over 3 years of ownership that had no said issues.
Even this one hasn't had any issues, no reason to think otherwise.
Even if it does it will get fixed, no reason to think otherwise.

Perhaps new owner Gentex will right the ship?
