Edit: see this user's post, correcting mine. Looks like you could port out your number as long as your account has not expired for non-payment (so during the first month), and the phone will still unlock after 60 days.

I copied that, but it's correct, Use a 4 digit pin of your choice, it's in the voicemail setting. Without doing that, it won't port.

I need help with this. On the new GV experience layout. There is no way to set a pin unless I didn't see it. I'm guessing this only works with Legacy Google Voice which is no longer accessible from what I can tell. I've already unlocked the number but have no way to set a pin. Will it still work if I port out the GV number to TW?

Edit: I think I figured it out.. you have to turn on "Call to Listen" under Voicemail settings and it will prompt you to set a pin. Hopefully this works.

I remember doing that deal last year on two iPhone 11. I asked my unsuspecting wife to look into my iPhone camera Sold them $200 each two months later. Basically I sold her "id" for $200. I don't think I opened the box and turned them on. Don't know if keeping them sealed still unlocks them after two months.

iPhone 13 is a great (international) travel phone (though I'd prefer its little brother, which I mainly use) - if you don't mind sharing your driver's license and headshot with Total and need an unlocked travel phone sooner. Wish they lowered the price of 12 mini.

Not worth it for requirements in my opinion. You can buy an iPhone from StraightTalk without porting in a number, with one month of cheaper service. iPhone 13 is $250 (plus service $35), iPhone 12 $200 (plus service $35). Activate, wait 60 days and it unlocks.

They will never unlock if never activated. As has been brought up in this thread already. Activate, and let the first month expire, wait until day 60 and it will unlock after that automatically. No need to pay for the additional month. BUT you must activate it to start the 60 day timer for unlocking. You also need to do this before the first month is over after they ship or that first month prepaid service clock will expire also. You've already paid for it so do it right away.

Thank you. Is your phone from the ST deal already unlocked or will unlock? I used my main number when I placed the order, has the phone been linked to the number? Can I use another number to activate the phone? Some people mentioned that it is risky to port out before it is unlocked.

plan A: why not get a 15 days trail phone number from Visible (no cost) then port that number to Total Wireless so no risk on your real number.
plan B: use a referral to join Visible for $5 then port that number to then port that number to Total Wireless so no risk on your real number.
