Yes. Since it's Android. What you do is create a minor (<13 yrs old) Google account. Then add that account to your Google Family. Then login to that account when setting up this phone. From there you can manage screentime length and schedules, plus block or allow different apps. As long as you stick with Google Chrome as the only browser on the phone you can set what websites are allowed and the maturity level of search results. Some other Google apps also allow you to set maturity level allowed.

It takes some configuring, but I've had good experiences with using Google Family to manage my kids devices.

I've done the following several times without issue. Usually the chat portion is completed within 30 minutes. You won't have to do much more than provide validation that you're in possession of both phones (they'll send a text to each phone at points during the chat) and keep the conversation open (basically respond after each time they chat to you even if it's just "ok" to their "please continue to hold").

1. Go to the web to find the current minutes, messages, data, and days remaining on your permanent phone.
2. Activate your "donor" phone on the same account.
3. Go to the web to find the current minutes, messages, data, and days remaining on your new, donor phone.
4. Go to support.tracfone.com and scroll down to and click "Chat with Support".
5. Populate the message template below with details of your donor phone and permanent phone and share with the CSR.

Hello, I'd like to move the data, minutes, text, and remaining days FROM my line TO my line .

currently has ### minutes, ### messages, #.# GB data, ### days left which I'd like added to my line which currently has ### minutes, #### messages, #.# GB data, ## days left.

My account email address is:

The end result should be minutes, messages, GB data, days left.

S25 deal live on Spectrum

This phone nets you 710 dollar worth trade in

But, we cannot trade-in this phone immediately right? As it has to be unlocked first which can only be done after 60 days and by that time the value of trade in can go down. Any work around?

Trade-in usually doesn't require unlock. Just that there are no outstanding obligations (e.g. installment plans) on the device or blacklisted due to non-payment.

I bought the Blu View 5G which came with 1 year unlimited talk/text and 24GB data in Oct 24. I then added one 1.5/1.5/1.5 plan that i got with the moto g play 2023. This is what my service says now on the website:

TF UNL Talk & Text, 24GB Data, 365 Day, Smartphone
Service period ends:
10/12/2026
that's really good to know! I wonder if your 24gb of data will also carry into 2026 or if it will expire in Oct 2025.

The following information will help answer questions you may have about trading in your old device.

Do I have to remove my information from my old device?
Yes, you're responsible for removing all confidential, proprietary or personal information before trading in your device. Remember to turn off any location-based services like Find My iPhone before returning your device. You can perform a factory reset to erase all stored information.

Visit our Device Help & Tutorials page and select your device for factory reset instructions.

Make sure that your phone has been unlocked from its previous carrier.

Note: A factory reset will delete all your photos, files and settings. Make sure to back up your data so you can restore it later.

Tracfone changed the unlock policy last July, which added a paid service plan rule. If you transferred the service from an old line to this new iPhone, it would not be eligible for unlock. You can simply add a 30-day plan (purchased with your rewards points or $), and it should be eligible for unlock [howardforums.com] within 60 days (no need to start a new line/service and never use a BYOD SIM before it got unlocked-use only the original SIM).

Thanks. A little confused. Currently the line I am using still have 2 years mins and data. I don't think I can add a 30-day service, right?

Yes, you can! If you're currently on non-unlimited plan (like these 1500/1500/1500 from QVC/HSN bundles), simply add a $15 (or 1,500 points) 30-day 500/500/500 Talk/Text/Data (MB) to your service. With the paid service plan added, you met the policy requirements (as in the linked post), and the iPhone should be eligible for unlock within 60 days (if you did a proper service transfer and you didn't put other SIM in this iPhone or insert the SIM that came with the iPhone in any other phone, i.e., for unlock purpose, only use the SIM that came with the phone).

Interesting. The major carriers don't require unlock, iirc.

Weirdly enough, the "unlocked from its previous carrier" links to this page:
https://www.spectrum.net/support/...nformation

I wonder if they actually require an unlocked device for trade-in or if that just pertains to number porting lock.

The data should carry into 2026. It's the status of the unlimited talk/text that's unknown. I'm guessing that part will expire Oct 2025 and you'll just get the 1500 min/txt after.

I tried Metro PCS locked phone to trade-in with Cox and website did not accept the IMEI of the locked phone. Others might have had luck with Cox but it was no go for me with a locked phone. It accepted any unlocked phone.

I have kept phones for about 2-3 months and still been able to activate.

The other part - if you activate this by transferring your existing number on Tracfone itself - it extends validity. Not clear if your plan that's expiring in June is on a different provider.
Activate within 1 year

I have traded in many locked phones to Spectrum with no issues. Don't think it'll be any different this time around.

I just tried a trade-in of a Tracfone-locked Moto G Play 2024 on Spectrum and it accepted the IMEI.
