I think Samsung has the better deals. I pre ordered direct from them last night. The 512 GB models are the same price as the 256 GB if you order there and they have more color options. Grabbed a 512 GB in green and they offered $600 trade on my S22 Ultra. It also came with $130 instant store credit which I used to grab an entirely free pair of galaxy buds 3 pro (was marked down to $125) and then used the extra $5 towards their clear case which was marked down to $12 (these are bundle prices when ordered alongside a phone). They also gave another $35 off the phone and a few bucks off the case for military discount.

Total for S25 Ultra 512 GB - Titanium Jadegreen + S25 Ultra Clear Case + Galaxy Buds3 Pro Silver was 755.35 inc tax after my trade in which ends up being $31.47 a month using Affirm

Removing the S-Pen button camera function is a deal breaker for me.

Not feeling this at all... S25 Ultra isn't worth $400 plus tax after trade-in for basically the same phone.

I like my S24 Ultra and overall it's entire feature set but Samsung needs to step up with hardware features.

More ram, faster charging, battery size, upgraded cameras, etc, are falling behind competitors.

Same 12gb ram as S24 Ultra and now S25 base and Plus.

Spen downgraded.. now just a basic stylus and no bt support.
ALL OF THIS. I told myself I'd NEVER go back to an iPhone (my last one was an iPhone 3GS), but Samsung has been caught lacking for years. They've stripped out every single feature that gave them a competitive advantage over Apple. The last straw for me was the removal of the microSD slot to expand my memory.

My S24 Ultra actually feels like a DOWNGRADE from my Note 20 Ultra and I have less customizations and use fewer features on my new phone than I did on my old one. My wife and kids have all left Samsung and have iPhones now. They laugh at me because my text bubbles are green in our family chats. LOL. I don't buckle under peer pressure at all, but if Samsung is basically selling their own version of iPhones now then I might as well just buy an iPhone. IJS!

As bad as these incremental changes are.. no way I could use a iphone. So many limitations even though they have added many os features lately that were pain points.

Damn, I totally forgot the event was today and didn't reserve a preorder for the free $50 credit. Oh well.
I am pretty sure the code is generic (you don't need t have reserved anything). At least that is how it worked the past few years.

For how little I use the S Pen... I would prefer a smaller phone lol. Maybe the real win would be getting rid of the S25 plus and replacing it with the S25 ultra without S pen and shrunk that little bit that it would allow. Then you arent forcing people to buy this huge phone just to get a good camera array.
So a s25 plus?

not worth it $220 (given then $200 bbcard)?

seems no deal for upgrade at any price :-)

Site offered $585 for my unlocked Galaxy Note20 Ultra 5G 128GB trade for the unlocked S25 here. I wouldn't do it, but pleasantly surprised at what was offered (still not enough to trade though).

The biggest differentiator now is RAM. The top iPhone still has only 8GB. But Samsung has been stuck at 12GB for years now and it should be bumped up to 16GB to maintain their advantage.

Not long ago iphone pros had only 4GB and most flagship Androids had 8GB. Even the 14 Pro only had 6GB. But when apple made the 15 pro with 8GB, that was Samsungs cue to go with 16 to maintain the 100% lead in multitasking.

I was quite annoyed about this at first and still am somewhat, but for those that like everything else about the phone, remember you can buy a Bluetooth 5.0 Remote Shutter on amazon for about 5 bucks. Maybe this isn't a reason to throw the baby out with the bathwater?
On a side note, I hate when features get removed, I've already had to deal with the removal of the microSD card slot, the removal of the heartrate sensor and iris scanner from the note 9 days... All were upsetting at first but then I learned to live without it. I just buy the 1TB to deal with the storage issue. I bought the watch to deal with the missing heartrate sensor. And the fingerprint scanner got so good these days that I don't really miss the iris scanner. Which when you think of it this way, that's probably exactly what samsung wanted 🤔

I did it in store last time. Brought a fast transfer cable, sat there and did the transfer to the new phone. Then reset and traded in old phone. Might be a yymv based on who you get.

Just note to manually transfer your 2FA codes...or double check they transferred. For google Authenticator codes, I think i had to scan a qr code from old phone to new phone...unless they updated it since then.
Google Authenticator is now backed up to the cloud, thankfully.

Do they trade in cracked screen?

EDIT: I just tried it. S22U trade in is $600 but only $50 for cracked screen. What's the cheapest way to get the screen fixed?
