In October 2024, there was a "popular" deal on SD for the regular S24 via Amazon and it was still $600:

The best deals on the Samsung website are for the Ultra and with EDU, so not everyone will qualify. The phone in OPs post is the regular S25.
Unless Samsung does something drastically different from the last 2 releases, I don't think the price will drop that much. It seems like they're trying more and more each year to be comparable to Apple in the US, which means keeping their prices at a "premium" level.
The days of upgrading at release for $100-$200 + freebies seem to be over, which is a huge bummer.

There are some power profiles that you can set, including gaming/GPU performance targets.
So you can throttle back some performance settings for battery and heat conservation.
Note that at lower power settings, that you will have better performance than older generation galaxy phones.
If you give the phone the beans, or "full beans" and turn up all performance settings then, yeah you may get pretty toasty.
But for normal web browsing, streaming, non-gaming usage, do yourself a big favor, turn down those performance settings and enjoy great battery life, cool to the touch and very fast performance.
Coming from a regular s21, it's a huge speed upgrade even at battery saving settings

Yesterday, I went to Costco and purchased a Galaxy S25. I traded in a Galaxy S10e that I had bought on eBay for $100, and received a $500 trade-in credit. I'll also be receiving a $100 Costco gift card in about 8 weeks, effectively maximizing the $500 trade-in benefit.
Here's the breakdown of my cost:
SM-G986U Galaxy S20 Plus 5G
$65.00
Recurring bill credit: $18.13 for 24 mos, total $435.00
If don't trade in and keep phone, does that mean just don't get the $65 but get the monthly bill credit?
Edit - found it.
My local Costco switched to AT&T but Sams still has it. Are they don't the $100 gc?

sucks that S25+ 512gb is priced at 1119.99, Best buy and Samsung are offering at 100 less.
