They both work perfectly with both the Ally, Steam Deck, and Switch, allowing for charging, video out, and plugging in a USB SSD or controller on all 3.
For the Ally X the Mirabox is fully detected for allowing Turbo mode.
The biggest difference is the included USB cable and form factor. The USB cable included with the ROG Charger is WAY higher quality then then the one included with the Mirabox. The ROG's for factor works a bit better for when you need to plugin into an outlet behind a nightstand at a hotel (IMHO) but other then that they're pretty much on par with each other.
Get whatever is cheaper would be my suggestion.

Or is the dock USB-C connector just for power?
Btw does it work with only Switch or can I use other devices like laptops or steam deck?

If you're looking for just a travel dock (and use your own charger), I was surprised to find that there are USB-C to HDMI to USB-C cables that will do this for $15.
