It is true, that said, I don't fall asleep that frequently watching movies unless it's Saturday night at 10 p.m. and my kid passed out on me.

I think the combination of the length of these movies, the time it takes to get to anything interesting and pace as slow moving as they seem to be are the perfect combination for me to fall asleep before any excitement occurs.

The picture is an upgrade but it's not a reference transfer.
The Atmos is an upgrade but TBH it's only worth it if you have an optimal setup.
The BR was a reference on that side.
When I use the in wall HDMI, if I set the PS5 to output in 4k, HDR will be disabled. If I set it to 1080p, it lets me enable HDR. I bought a new 35ft cable and tested it running across the floor of my living room and it lets me use both 4k and HDR, but I can't replace it in the wall because the original one seems to be stapled down to the rafters or something since it won't budge (it was installed during the construction of the house, before the walls/ceilings were finished).

Just a heads up, you can still get 4k digital copies of the Lord of the Rings and Hobbit series Extended versions for 1500 Microsoft Rewards Points each. It's not too much work to get 1500 points either, I've gotten 2 of the movies within a week of pretty lazily trying.

If HDR is enabled that should be good enough since the PS5 doesn't support DV.

You can use something like this to try running a new cable through the same holes.

30 discs cuz for some reason they decided to throw in 15 regular blu-rays along with the 15 4K discs. I don't understand the point of that, especially at this juncture in time. If you're buying it for the 4K discs, why would anyone wants 15 duplicate, lower-quality discs as well?

I get what you're saying, but at this point is common practice. Just about every 4k release comes with a Blu Ray copy as well, so releasing one without would seem like a ripoff and probably not sell as well.

Pretty sure that's the reasoning behind it in the first place. Printing the extra discs only costs the manufacturer a few cents anyways, and it adds perceived value for most customers. It expands their potential customer base while also justifying a higher price point.

Audio, if you have an Atmos 5.1 or more speaker set, is the one thing that you can tell quickly gets skimped on when going digital. Harder for your eyes to tell on the 4k HDR and bit rate stuff (scene dependent).

Late to the party, but what makes it permanent? Unless they somehow stapled it to a structure or banded it in with other cables, I don't see how you couldn't use it as a feeder like for a new one. Overlap the the old one with the new, wrap with GOOD tape and pull out the old one.
I'd be surprised if it's not pretty easy to replace bc a good av tech knows HDMI tech is continuing to expand and grow more so than speaker audio connections (aside from wireless).
