FWIW I really like the Pixel 9. Excellent screen, responsive and great cameras. The "slow" processor doesn't affect me at all as a non-gamer.

Just an FYI the Mint deal is still going on which might be of interest to some. Pixel 9 for $399 with a year of unlimited service for $180. You have to buy the service with it, so all in for $579+tax and a $25 mint 'recovery' fee. The phone is initially locked to Mint, but unlocked after 60 days.

Which screen protector do you guys use for Pixel 9? My finger print sensor is not working properly with screen protector even I rescan it after installation.

Details on how you got this? Google One subscription?
I don't know why I got the email. I've been putting it in my cart and I think want me to buy it so they sent me a promo. Just randomly got it.

I picked up the Pixel 9 deal at the end of 2024 as a back up phone. I paid around the same amount but with a 3mos service.

Early in Jan 2025, Mint was so great to unlock it for me when I was overseas and contacted CSR via chat to use the phone locally. In the US my main phone is Samsung 25Ultra.
Are you me ? I'm rocking the same primary and backup phone. Loving both.

Got the pixel 9 256gb for $200 from the google store after price matching to a best buy deal for $549, a 6a trade in, and some existing Google store credit. S25 Ultra 512gb was effectively free after selling my s24 Ultra for $850. I'll pay maybe $50 after Google Fi required months of service. wish I had a few more referrals to throw at it

also wish I could have scooped the pink phone, they told me I had to price match the black for some reason

Same experience here. I picked up the S24 Ultra and Pixel 9 when they were released, and I prefer the P9. The camera on my S24 is significantly worse except for telephoto. I don't notice the speed difference in performance despite benchmark scores. Having face unlock AND ultrasonic fingerprint reader is fantastic also. I don't care about AI or gaming, so maybe that's why I don't notice the slower CPU.
Complete opposite experience here. I have a S24 Ultra as my daily driver and got the Pixel 9 Pro XL and I've found the photos better on the S24 Ultra minus the front facing camera. When I got the Pixel 3 XL that camera blew me away and was light years better at the time and I guess I was expecting the same. Cameras are so good these days that honestly any flagship will be comparable and go back and forth. People need to go back to buying for the operating system, chipset and software. The camera game has been pretty stale if late and zero reason to upgrade every other year even.

Temping. I've been on the fence about the Pixel 9 mostly because of the mixed reports on heating and battery life, but it's good to see so many folks here still happy with it overall.

FYI mint mobile sold this phone for $300 back in Nov 24. I bought it then and have no complaints. The modem definitely performs much better than previous pixels I've had and battery life is great. Hoping to get a lot of mileage out of it. The camera bump took some getting used to. Also, the weight of it is more than my previous pixels. I would pay $300 again but this is not a deal. I've never paid $600 for a phone and never will. $300 is my current max. $100-$200 for a generation or 2 older is the sweet spot IMO.

The trade in offer for the pixel 6a was from best buy?

I think the move is to buy at the google store and price match best buy or Amazon. Google store has the best trade values. They offered $225 at the time

Personally I would just get the renewed Pixel 8 pro which you can find for just a hair above $300 on Amazon. Half the price but you get the telephone lens. Only one year less of updates which is probably a moot point given that these both qualified for 7 years. Unless you're really just married to the squared off design... Which frankly I think is the less ergonomic. And it's not like this is the pixel 10 where they're switching from Samsung foundry to TSMC. This more or less has the same specs with the modem and radio and chip as the pixel 8 pro just with a barely noticeable improvement.

Some people I just don't really like it used phones but used pixels are a cheat code in terms of value.

Heck Even the Pixel 7 pro is still going to get Three more years of updates and you can find that for $225. Or the 512 GB version brand new from woot was 399 for a while.

But the 12 will feel slower.
Honestly performance bumps in terms of processing power have not been noticeable for at least half a decade. Even at the mid-range level like browsing and contact consumption is so snappy on a mid-range chip from 2020 like the 765 g. Unless you're rendering 4K video or playing the very few games on Android that even allow you to push frame rates like genshin or some emulation you are not going to notice a difference in performance year to year on Android or on iPhone.
