It's definitely best played over many short sessions. It's really easy to get burnt out playing too much at once.

Agreed. I do small bursts, but could see it being boring because it can be mundane

I got hooked on it, but I play it randomly through remote play one battle at a time. It's kind of an easy game though is my only issue. Never felt like I had to think too much

I have a hard time with knowing if I'll like these games. I loved ogre battle 64 and similar things but I did try 13 sentinels and that game was definitely over hyped. The story and characters was near impossible to follow due to the sheet amount of characters and all the storylines taking place at different points in time, and then the combat seemed absolutely abysmal. These niche games get over hyped too easily and it's impossible to know if this falls in that category or is genuinely good until you already invest the money and time

There's a demo you can download to see if you like it or not. It also transfers in case you end up purchasing the full game.

I think sometimes people get more enamored with with the graphics/art style rather than the gameplay itself.

For thirty bucks it's imo worth it if you like a solid game, with a solid growth progression. I think it's best on switch to as you can jump in and out with ease. When I sit down at my pc I'm looking to stay for a bit.

I wish it was on PC for longevity of access. (Playing it on new systems 10 years from now, not having to re buy)

BTW I've seen it claimed Xbox has KB/M support, but I have never tested the claim myself

This game is just a solid 3/5 for me. I'm a big fan of jrpgs and srpgs and everything here just felt average. The squad-design aspect is novel and synergy complexity can be as deep as your difficulty of choice demands. However it did become mundane for me and I burnt out maybe 30 hours in. It doesn't help that the story and character design all felt like recycled anime slop. Maybe I'm just getting too old and jaded for these games.

Good game. I'd give it a 8/10. Ogre Battle 64 is my favorite game of all time. This game was good. I'd say I'm around halfway through it and did kinda got bored. There is just way too many "named" characters that team building made me not include any generic characters. The story is also "bad guy fights you, but is not really a bad guy and once you forgive him, he/she joins you." I stopped playing once Balders Gate 3 came out and I just got back to Elden Ring. I'll get back to this game once I beat Elden Ring and BG3.

Good game. Easily can sink hours into the tactics; it's like programming, but instead of code, you're programming a team like it's a league / dota draft and you pick out gears and abilities etc. to maximize your wins.
