PSA: Be careful if you're scheduled to pickup on Friday. The activation timer may starts on Friday but the CS aren't availble on weekends, which means you only have whatever hours left on Friday to attempt cancelling the line.

Nothing to add about this deal, but I got this phone a couple months ago and I have to say it's the best phone I've ever used. My wife got a Iphone 16 pro max and the camera on the Pixel 9 pro XL puts it to shame - especially when zoomed in. And the battery is usually around 40% when I go to bed at night after heavy use all day.

So if you're on the fence about this phone, don't be - you'll love it!

You can cancel it once it ships or you pick it up from store. You will want to do that within 3 days to avoid activation fee.
Then you, if I pick it up from store, can I cancel it the next day?

Yes, they activate the phone at the store just before giving it to you so you can cancel anytime after that.

Online it seems you have transfer a number. To get a new number, you have to do it in store. Is there a way around this?

This deal requires you transfer a number unless you do in store. Transferring a number to an account you are going to immediately cancel is going to be a huge PIA unless you have a spare number or one you can tie to a GV account then pay to port out.

This info really should be in the OP as it changes the whole deal dynamic.

So you don't need to sign up for new cellular service? What is the catch then?
