I used my ID once and it never let me use it again for another deal, it seems the ID quota is only one.

Reps to who can tell me the best way to get a new phone number to port in for this deal.

I don't plan on using the phone for actual cell service, so unlocking is not necessary. I just want a decent android device to use. Thanks in advance!

Update: I ordered a number for $5 from numberbarn, enabled SMS on it, then was able to port it to order this Motorola Edge for free + $55 the plan. Thanks FabulousStranger526!

As I posted before, the new owner can use the phone on TW or a sister-brand before 60 days without needing to unlock the phone. For the new owner to start fresh on TW or a sister-brand, the phone must not have active service on TW, so port-out your TW phone number to numberbarn or some other providers (I used to use H2O $1 SIM). That will terminate its TW service. If you don't want to spend the money to port to numberbarn or another provider, AND you have a phone compatible with TW, then buy a TW BYOP SIM ($1 on Ebay or under $5 from TW, Target, Walmart, etc). Then transfer service from your TW Moto phone to the BYOP SIM. That will free up your TW Moto phone to sell.

So can you confirm TW MVNO will work with other Trackphone sub brands.

I can. I checked the IMEIs of my two TW Moto Edge 2024 and two Samsung A35 using the TF BYOP IMEI Checker and they passed. You need to do the check BEFORE activating on TW, because if it's active on TW then the IMEI Check will fail (you can't have the same IMEI on multiple Verizon MVNOs AT THE SAME TIME). There are also people who asked TF reps to rebrand their TW phones as TF phones to use on TF.

Do you port out to company like numberbarn and then once transfer is complete , you cancel that number, so the phone is free to be activated with some other MVNO. Also to activate during 60 days, will the buyer need TW Physical SIM or they can do BYOD and activate using esim.

I've never used numberbarn to buy a number or park a number. Back in 2020 when I did a lot of sign-up deals with AT&T and T-mobile postpaid, it was a pain to call their reps to end service, so I used H2O BYOP SIMs to port out the numbers. If I remember correctly, those H2O SIM cost $1 and came with a free trial (7 days?). I just ported out the numbers to H2O then let the numbers die after the trial period.
As for using eSIM, TF and its sister companies have this weird policy that they only support eSIM on iPhone 12 and later. TW supports eSIM on Samsung S24 and iPhone 12 and later. Click on the link below, select I Want A New Number, then look at the footnote about eSIM.

Looks like Motorola is not compatible with esim, so I believe the new user would still use the hardware SIM that came with the phone to activate. Correct?

The consensus here seems to be that only 30-days of paid service is needed. However, the unlock policy states 60-days. Can anyone confirm which is true?
>For all cellphones Activated on the Verizon network on or after November 23, 2021, the cellphone will be remotely unlocked automatically 60 days after paid Activation and 60 days of paid active service.

Could someone confirm the unlock policy? It states "60 days after activation" but didn't mention if the phone has to be still active on their network or only one month service is ok.
The policy states 60 days of paid service but the consensus here seems to be 30-days. Reproducing below the unlock policy statement.

Verizon (owner of TW and their other sub-brands like TF, ST, PP) changed the Unlock Policy (effective April 1, 2025) to say that 60 days of paid service are required. The "consensus" that only 30 days of paid service are needed was valid until April 1st when Verizon changed the policy. Prior to that, although a phone from TW/TF/ST/PP was unlocked 60 days after activation, the policy never stated 60 days of service were required. You can take a look at the policy before the change here: https://web.archive.org/web/20250...rtal/home/

It's similar to when Metro changed their waiting period for Unlocking last May from 6 months to 1 year. At least Metro has the decency to apply the change only to phones activated after the change date. But the Verizon bastards didn't publish the change until around April 6th with an effective date of April 1st. Worse yet, they seem to be applying the new policy to phones that were activated prior to April 1st (like in March) but 60 days haven't passed since activation yet. So now the owners of those phones (like me) have to cough up money to pay for another 30 days of service to get their phones unlocked.

I'm in the same boat I bought it at the end of February activated it in March and phone is still locked, do you know if anyone had success with TW honoring the prior policy?

I participate in the Tracfone sub-forum of Howard Forums https://www.howardforums.com/foru...rands.330/ . There are two reports of getting unlocked after April 1st under the old policy (one failed at first then eventually succeeded).
  • Success (1st try):
    Moto G Power 2024,
    Activated- 2/7
    Deactivated- 3/9
4/9 (Day 61), still locked. Called Unlocking dept. Asked if I was moving service--I said I was going overseas. Told it was "eligible"--needed to power off/on, may take "several hours." Still locked. Connected to hotspot of working phone (Pixel on MobileX network), powered off/on, checked by dialing "TFUNLOCK" and got SIM Unlocked.
4/11 - Put on Helium Zero plan using eSIM so is for sure unlocked. Likely I just got lucky/YMMV!
  • Failure then Success:
Well, I checked my Straight Talk Moto G Power 5G 2024 (activated 2/11) today 4/15 and it was still locked. I called the unlocking dept and got the spiel that they were unable to unlock it and just repeated the (new) terms. My explanation that the phone should be subject to the old terms was a no go, neither they nor a supervisor (wouldn't transfer me) would be able to override it.
I don't know if HUCA would work (didn't try yet). I went to the unlocking web page, and it did say it was eligible for unlock, took my name, email, and a phone number, but it then redisplayed the page with the boxes empty. I had hoped that might trigger the unlock signal.
All throughout, I was connected to WiFi, with various reboots at times, and waiting, but it never unlocked.
I am thinking about trying the FCC complaint. If no luck, I will just use it (rebrand) on my PagePlus or TracFone line.
    ==== Updated next day 4/16/25 =============
Success! As I stated in a previous post, I did try the website which said I was eligible. I submitted my info which blanked out after that, but I hoped it would trigger the automatic unlock after leaving it on WiFi for a while, but it didn't.
Today, I decided to try calling the unlocking dept again, in the hope that they might see the eligiblity I received yesterday and unlock the phone. The rep said right away that it was eligible and gave me the instruction to turn the phone off/on and wait up to 4 hours.
The phone unlocked several minutes later.
I do think the online form at least flagged my phone as eligible so that the call rep could act on it.
