I used my ID once and it never let me use it again for another deal, it seems the ID quota is only one.

Reps to who can tell me the best way to get a new phone number to port in for this deal.

I don't plan on using the phone for actual cell service, so unlocking is not necessary. I just want a decent android device to use. Thanks in advance!

Update: I ordered a number for $5 from numberbarn, enabled SMS on it, then was able to port it to order this Motorola Edge for free + $55 the plan. Thanks FabulousStranger526!

I'm in the same boat I bought it at the end of February activated it in March and phone is still locked, do you know if anyone had success with TW honoring the prior policy?
Most are reporting they're being told to buy another month, all you can do is call and see what they say.

So the first month of service is already paid with the purchase. If you port your line out to say numberbarn, this number will not be active with TW, you then wait for 60 days. Will the phone unlock? in this case, you havent paid for the 2nd month of service.

What happens if someone doesnt pay for the 2nd month of service? does the phone automatically unlock after 60 days? I hear numberbarn can take upto a week, which is a long time if you are flipping this on ebay and have to quickly put this in a mail after receiving order.

If the Phone is unlocked with TW, can the number be ported out?

One way to know for sure is to submit your OOma number and see if TW accepts it. That will take place before you can add the phone to the cart. They will only check the number (and send a text to it). Porting doesn't take place until you've received the phone and activate it. Nothing to lose.

https://www.tfwunlockpolicy.com/ . It's the same site for all sub-brands in the Tracfone family of companies.

I assume you don't want to give the next owner of the phone your current TW account (userID, password, etc). If so, you'll need to REMOVE the phone from your TW, so the next owner can add the phone to his account (I'll use he/his to simplify the writing).
  • Log into your TW account. Select Manage Lines-->select the line tied to the phone you're selling-->select Devices-->Remove from Account. This will only remove the phone from your account so that it can be added to the next owner's account. It will NOT deactivate the phone.
  • TW will text a code to the phone. Enter the code on the site. TW will remove the phone from your account.
  • Ship the phone to the buyer WITH the original SIM in it. Its current phone number will go with the phone. Do NOT port out the number because that will deactivate the phone and it won't complete the 30 days of service that came with the phone (i.e. when the next owner adds 30 more days it won't have 60 days of service total).
  • If the phone is still active when the next owner receives it, he can create a TW account and enter the phone's number. The phone will be added to his account. He can add 30 more days of service to it.
  • If the phone's service has expired when the next owner receives it, he can create a TW account and (re)ACTIVATE the phone using it IMEI. It might have its previous phone number or TW will assign it a new phone number. The new owner will have to pay for a plan to reactivate the phone.

Ok great, this way I would be able to reset the phone. Will ship the physical SIM and provide the phone number and with that the new owner will be able to continue/activate the service and complete his 60 days and then from there it is home free any way.

Hey slickdeals fam, I just wanted to share some info that might help some who run into this issue. I received my phone today went online tried to activate and port over from redpocket. Red pocket account numbers are only 7 digits long, Total wireless' website is stupid and would not accept that and i couldn't hit continue to proceed with the port in. I called total wireless customer sevice (don't do this). They are not smart at all, probably one of the worst phillipine call centers ever. The lady wasted my time asking for the same crap about 5 times then immediately said "I cannot activate your old carrier is blocking". Its a complete lie they tell you this to get you to go away. The key to do this is go back to the online activation and for your account number add two leading zeros hit continue and get to the last step which tells you try to make phone call with your phone to test. Just make sure the sim is in reboot the phone and within 15 mins a bunch of texts will roll in and you're done.

I have no heat issues at all. The only time mine gets even a little warm is maybe while charging.
