This goes on the back of your TV and puts out the colors that are kn the screen very cool effect. That said...

YOU NEED TO GET A PHILLIPS SYNC BOX FOR THIS TO WORK WHICH IS $200+ on top of the $127 for this.

I thought it was the TV not the light behind of it.

Oh really? I just bought a new C4, so I'm wondering if this would work. I'll have to do some research, I don't remember seeing anything about that

Newer gen LG and Samsung TVs, and it costs $2.99+tax a month.

https://www.philips-hue.com/en-us...I_sync_box

Since I already had Hue color lights and Hub, I'm glad I had a chance to try this for a few days with a low price. Personally, I felt I wouldn't want to continue with the subscription.

The app is buggy, the functionality itself is underwhelming in real world use.

Granted I didn't have the recommended 'Philips Hue TV Lightstrip' that would've given a much better effect. But the idea itself seems more like a party trick, something very novel that you might be interested to try a few times, show off to guests what your setup can do, but then I don't see this being a daily driver.

If you are into the Philips Hue ecosystem, this app is a cheap and easy way to try to experience what the sync box does. If you really like it, then you could either continue the monthly subscription, pay a one-time fee for a lifetime subscription tied to a single TV (bad idea IMO), or buy a Sync box (no sub needed).

So the $3 is for the app itself? sound like a good way to try the system without wasting a ton of money if you dont like it. I hate subscriptions

Do you need a stream or other thing plugged to your HDMI for this to work, or can it work straight from the TV image itself?

Is this a good enough size for an 85 inch tv or 100 inch tv or do I need multiple? and can they be daisy changed?
