You dont have to do this necessarily as the verification code they send when you are purchasing the phone doesnt have to be the phone number you are porting. You can get the verification code on any number then when you port a number over you can use the number barn number for $5

Yes, but nobody sold you something for $125-200 under retailer wholesale cost.
You get what you pay for.
You can buy this phone for more without the requirements.
If they did not require this some folks would buy dozens to resell (which I have no exact issue with other than it make such a deal impossible to offer)
Decide for yourself.
It's really no different from walking into T-mobile and signing a contract to get a 'free' or subsidized iphone. They take your id there.

I used family members ID so I could get eight phones sent to my address. My 8th phone order was canceled email said because I'm only allowed six phone shipped to a single address so I used my friend's address to have my 8th phone sent. For my second account i ended up getting one iPhone one razor 2025 and x2 A36. for my a36 on my second month of service I downgraded to $10 talk and text only plan but unlimited mobile data continues to work into my third month of service now. on my Razor after the second month of service i downgraded to same $10 talk and text only plan but free unlimited mobile data didn't work for that one so I think the free mobile data only works on the device that comes with one month of prepaid service

Weird. Ordered phone this morning, about 12 hours later I get cancellation email. No reason why...
Edit: they said my bank rejected which is BS since I see the pending charge.

This was my experience and many with Straight Talk a year or two ago the Iphone SE deal, They are the same company. Just cancel with no reason and customer service sucks

I read that phones from Verizon and Verizon owned MVNOs work out of the box if the psims are Verizon or Verizon owned MVNOs. It's not as restrictive compared to others.

I just got my 2nd iPhone 13 this week. Ordered a Psim from Verizon and will test it out if this still holds true.

A word of caution: I took advantage of this deal in May, and I received a phone with a SIM kit that was registered to someone else. After hours on the phone with Total Wireless, they got the phone to activate under my account, but then my online account had someone else's address, order history, and payment information stored in it. This apparently happened when people ordered these devices, but then returned or canceled their orders. Total Wireless did not disassociate the phones from the originally intended purchasers before sending them to new purchasers.
