That'd be a super good deal if it was the forge batteries, but like the previous commenter said, I've never seen this kit with forge batteries. I'm guessing it's this one, I found a Home Depot near me that has it on clearance for $349 https://www.homedepot.com/p/Milwa.../326279299
Just saw this at my local HD… 50% off for $349 with the non-FORGE 8.0 pair. Is this not considered slick? I'm a new homeowner trying to round out my lawn setup. Got a decent M18 Fuel collection already, just missing the outdoor gear.
Looks like this isn't the QUIK-LOK version, which makes me wonder is that a bad thing? Feels like this might be the more powerful, dedicated trimmer, while the QUIK-LOK version trades a bit of performance for flexibility; is that the way to look at it?
Would love input from the Milwaukee faithful, should I jump on it or pass?
Edit:
Now seeing this Lawncare kit with two (2) 12.0 ah FORGE batteries + 2 rapid chargers + blower + Quik-Lok power head + trimmer + free product (would choose edger), all for $579. This feels slick? Would sell blower + 1 charger since I have already, so that could bring this $425 or there about. Feels damn slick. https://www.homedepot.com/p/Milwa.../332733545

Alternatively, you could buy the kit without the blower and add the free hedge trimmer attachment, return it (hack) and your pre-tax price for the kit is $356!
I was disappointed when this came out , I couldn't believe they did not make it quick lock. The whole 2 battery thing I wasn't crazy about but really wanted to try it. The no quick lock killed it for me.

I love love Milwaukee products! I own every m12 m18 Milwaukee makes for residential and professional! Milwaukee m18 quick lock motor overheats! Unless you are ok with buy 2 separate motors to weed eat your lawn stay away! I tried the ego they don't over heat and stop working! Milwaukee rep has no solution just warranty if you are still under warranty! If I could do it all over again I would go Ryobi and ego for landscaping don't buy Milwaukee

I picked up the trimmer + 8ah Forge battery for 299 with the free hedge trimmer that's 179 msrp, from the post 2 days ago. I had a non quiklok trimmer from 5 years ago, but I wanted to be able to add some attachments. I think that's the better deal if you have other batteries or can wait for a battery deal.

In my opinion, the deal with the Blower is better. It comes with the blower and the second battery is the HD12.0 (instead of XC8.0) for only $90 more. You can still hack by adding a tool. Sell the blower if you don't need it, and far better deal.

Yeah this is what I ended up doing. Got the two (2) 12.0 ah FORGE battery set with the blower and 2 rapid chargers (plus edger). Will sell the blower and a charger and ultimately this was a steal. Excited to give everything a go this weekend. Lots of overgrowing stuff!
Wasn't ever really considering the lawnmower since the whole kit was ~$1,200 retail. But with the batteries now secured... maybe I could look at the mower tool only. Happy!

The regular single battery M18 one that comes up fairly often for $199 or less w/battery and fast charger should do you just fine. I've been using it for awhile and EASILY takes care of the routine trimming on a single charge AND has enough power. I borrowed a neighbor's Kobalt while I was between trimmers before getting the Milwaukee. It sucked. Way under powered and does just as much simply slapping the weeds and such as it does actually cutting. I dunno how he puts up with it. Also borrowed BIL's mid level Ryobi. Much better than that POS Kobalt but still on the weak side. Decided to spend a little more and get the M18 one since I have lots of tools in that line. That one actually worked ok. That said, during some real hardcore heavy use doing a lot of major trimming, I have both run the battery down (fine since I have plenty others) AND overheated it a few times like you see mentioned in some reviews, so it's not quite perfect. I'd def buy one again if I had to do over tho.
I bought this deal and am pretty darn impressed by it. I live on acreage and the weeds just take off this time of year. Instant spin up, quieter and very little vibration compared to gas. This will run a fatter line than the quick loc so more impact force and durability.

Not bad either way, I don't live in the safest neck of the woods so I tend to avoid local sales, but that's just personal preference. Enjoy the new trimmer! For what it's worth, the mower kit is on clearance at my local store for $600. Might be worth shopping around for. Also, HD usually marks down mowers annually. Not sure what your landscape situation is but I got a 56v Cub Cadet 42in deck lawn tractor for $375 without a charger this time last year, so also just keep an eye out!
Depending on location. My local HD is 349.99 and only 1 left in stock.
This is different model from the one with Quik-lol as this is dual battery- making it a true 36volt trimmer.. other one being 18volt.
i have this dual battery version -it is heavy but the included strap help. It is very powerful. More powerful than my echo gas trimmer. Battery life is around 40min with various power as I vary my power usage.. my gas one also last about same time.. bought generic batteries on amazon but can tell they're not as good but way cheaper.
for my yard - .4 acre lot on a hill this is good for me as I need the power and it does speed up the work.. 40min on this is worth 1hr of time on gas.
Two batteries and charger included in this kit is worth 400. So this is a great deal if you can get it at least half off.
Whether you really need that power it's up to you. This is a single shaft pole - with this being so powerful I guess it's made this way for better handling and durability.

Are you sure these are Forge? I've only even seen this kit with HO 8.0s which have the reliability issues.
Not forge. High output 8.0. I used it about twice so far and it retains power and charge quickly.. I guess will have to find out about reliability later. I bought two 15ah batteries on amazon for around 120 and yeah I'm lucky that it last as long this 8.0ah.
I think 3 yr warranty also apply to batteries..
