Here's the online link which is full price, but will list your local store clearance price if it's available.

Looks like this isn't the QUIK-LOK version, which makes me wonder is that a bad thing? Feels like this might be the more powerful, dedicated trimmer, while the QUIK-LOK version trades a bit of performance for flexibility; is that the way to look at it?
Would love input from the Milwaukee faithful, should I jump on it or pass?
Edit:
Now seeing this Lawncare kit with two (2) 12.0 ah FORGE batteries + 2 rapid chargers + blower + Quik-Lok power head + trimmer + free product (would choose edger), all for $579. This feels slick? Would sell blower + 1 charger since I have already, so that could bring this $425 or there about. Feels damn slick.

Wasn't ever really considering the lawnmower since the whole kit was ~$1,200 retail. But with the batteries now secured... maybe I could look at the mower tool only. Happy!

The regular single battery M18 one that comes up fairly often for $199 or less w/battery and fast charger should do you just fine. I've been using it for awhile and EASILY takes care of the routine trimming on a single charge AND has enough power. I borrowed a neighbor's Kobalt while I was between trimmers before getting the Milwaukee. It sucked. Way under powered and does just as much simply slapping the weeds and such as it does actually cutting. I dunno how he puts up with it. Also borrowed BIL's mid level Ryobi. Much better than that POS Kobalt but still on the weak side. Decided to spend a little more and get the M18 one since I have lots of tools in that line. That one actually worked ok. That said, during some real hardcore heavy use doing a lot of major trimming, I have both run the battery down (fine since I have plenty others) AND overheated it a few times like you see mentioned in some reviews, so it's not quite perfect. I'd def buy one again if I had to do over tho.

This is different model from the one with Quik-lol as this is dual battery- making it a true 36volt trimmer.. other one being 18volt.
i have this dual battery version -it is heavy but the included strap help. It is very powerful. More powerful than my echo gas trimmer. Battery life is around 40min with various power as I vary my power usage.. my gas one also last about same time.. bought generic batteries on amazon but can tell they're not as good but way cheaper.
for my yard - .4 acre lot on a hill this is good for me as I need the power and it does speed up the work.. 40min on this is worth 1hr of time on gas.
Two batteries and charger included in this kit is worth 400. So this is a great deal if you can get it at least half off.
Whether you really need that power it's up to you. This is a single shaft pole - with this being so powerful I guess it's made this way for better handling and durability.

I think 3 yr warranty also apply to batteries..
