Tempting, if it's still shuckable.

Assuming it's the same drive as previously found on Reddit, you're looking at around $210-$230 if purchased refurbished.

Subtract the cost of the SN770 and you're at around $10.50/TB, which is currently unheard of for a brand new drive.

This would have been an amazing deal if paired with the Terramaster D8-Hybrid from a month ago.

Despite being paired w/ an SSD bundle, this is likely the best available value.

Where do you see $210-230 20TB drives? The sites known for recertified drives are all charging $275+ nowadays, prices jumped.

Good deal considering the WD pirates hold a knife to everyone's throat today. The SSDs are not high end, but they'll make good external drives or could even replace a smaller drive on a lower performance or less-used machine.

Anyway, I decided to pull the trigger so I can clean up and consolidate some smaller drives. Looking at roughly $300 ea. including tax.. Still a TU for today's prices.

NOTE: I believe they are CMR (according to Amazon) and , otherwise they would be a hard pass...

FWIW, Bestbuy also dropped their price to $279 for the WD easystore 20TB (they were on sale for $349 earlier):
https://www.bestbuy.com/site/wd-e...Id=6500985

Note that it does not come with a free 1tb ssd and the price is not as low as BF when it was $250, but I figured I'd put it here just in case you have like a BB GC or something. Also, there's 4% CB at BB from a certain company instead of 1% at Newegg.

Edit: Amazon also dropped their price for a 20TB WD: https://www.amazon.com/Elements-D...B09VCXWPQG

I'm thinking that the 1TB SSD is worth at least $50, assuming you want it. So with that caveat, this is a decent deal.

It's humorous that I can find references to 20TB WD Elements for $279 as far back as 3 years ago. Prices have not gone down and recently have gone up.

For just the external, Amazon is now a couple dollars less and WD directly is same price.

Can only imagine these going up in price soon... needed some SSD's for a NAS and the SN770's have been pretty rock solid at work and home use.
