I got this chair from another recent deal at $100, and I love it. Some key points I took away from the previous threads regarding this model is

1. Hyken is best for smaller people, ideally ~5'4 maybe?
2.For taller people, the Dexley also sold by Staples and often on sale for ~$20 more is more suitable.
3. I'm 5'6, and while the chair felt comfortable, the headrest was a little too low even for me. I followed an online guide for a "mod" that turns the headrest support upside down so that it sits higher. I can't be happier with the result.

Sorry I can't share the mod, I'm at work and firewall you know 😕

Man these were like $150 'on sale' during the pandemic. After accounting for inflation, tariffs, any number of other reasons and excuses, I'd expect this to be like $250 now. $90 seems like a great price

the 50% coupon is specifically for the Hyken chair and will not work on Dexley.

Still too low - I'm only 5'9" and it stabs my shoulders if I sit up straight. If I slouch it kind of works though.
Then use the mod that was mentioned at the top of the thread. Almost everybody that did it claimed that it worked and they are happy with their chair. The chair itself is very good but some complained about the neck rest and there is a fix for it at the top of this thread.

Junk chair. The arm mechanism is cheap plastic and the caster wheel holes within the base became deformed causing the wheels to not seat properly.

If you are 5'9 and taller, do not buy this chair even with the mods of turning the headrest upside down. You will probably end up slouching, the arm rest and lumbar adjustment is at a minimum.

Ah yes, this huge piece of shit chair that gets posted here every few weeks. Avoid it if you care about your bones.

I hate this chair. It's the single worst chair I've ever owned. I paid $300 for this thing back in 2016 and used it a few hours each night for three or four years. The piston eventually failed ($20 for a new one) and I had to hammer it out. The mesh is that productivity fabric from Better Off Ted and you too will want to unalive yourself from sitting on it. When COVID hit, i was in this for 8+ hours a day. I'd wake up the next morning with agonizing back pain. Did that for a few months.

I finally went and borrowed my Herman Miller Mira 2 from the office. Back pain went away immediately. My mira chair is now 9 and looks and works brand new.

My Hyken sits in the corner to be used as a torture device for guests.

The Mira costs $1200 new and 600ish used, but when I consider that I've already spent $900 in the prior 9 years on three chairs that all either suck turds or outright irreparably broke, that 600 is a bargain.
This is right on. I just got this chair as a quick replacement for a $350 chair that turned out to be a piece of junk (fabric tore losing all tension).

I'm 5'9" 170lb and immediately the neck support is going into my shoulder blades. I spent an hour doing the mod because I didn't have a rachet low profile enough to access the screws and I didn't want to put holes in the mesh. Finally got it done and it's still pretty low, resting at the top of my shoulder instead of base of skull where you want this. I can't say this chair is very comfortable either. I feel like I'm stretching the mesh with my weight and like I said, I'm 170.

I don't know why I spend $3000 on a couch I sit 2 hours in and $100 on a chair I sit 10 hours in. If you are over 5'6" and sit in this chair for more than a few hours, do yourself a favor and buy something better.

Omg, thank you so much. My friend has recommended this chair to me for years. It's finally time to give in.

I've bought like 4 of these over the years. Personally I love them. The best chair you can get for $100 by far

This is the primary reason I'd buy another HM chair at full price, today, if I had too. I work from home and I'm in this chair 8 hours a day. It's not an office chair, it's one of my primary work tools.

2 screws are all you need to remove and you need to be a little careful. that is it.

Probably since it's not in-stock at the store so they have to "ship" it to the store, and that incurs the fee.

I'm in the same situation. No stores have an availability so it is $12.75 for delivery or $12.75 for handling.

I'm 5' 11'' and weigh 200. This chair is unbearable to sit in and caused me severe sciatic pain. I've deduced the bottom is too narrow for my rear end and presses inward on my buttocks. Switched to the old chair with insufficient padding which is wider and doesn't do this and it's no problem. If you're narrower it will probably be fine. The headrest is also annoying with my headset so I just ended up removing that. Looking for a HM or steelcase now…
