I just don't see this as a FP deal. Amazon sells a 4-pack of these with an effective price of $39+ each. The Dewalt 5Ah is $62, so no way this is a $199 battery. It seems like a reasonable price these days on what is their low-level battery without a lot of power.
If you're getting into the DeWalt lineup then I don't recommend buying ala cart. Wait for a tool bundle to go on sale that includes batteries and chargers. Acme tools frequently runs sales.

Newbie question: It doesn't include battery charger, so I have to spend another $100+ to get a battery charger?

Yes on needing a charger; no on price. Ideally, you get this as an extra battery to pair with a tool + battery + charger combo. Often, DeWalt has sales for an intro tool with a battery and charger for $99 or less (and the battery is usually a small one).

Here is one example: https://slickdeals.net/f/18336115-6-piece-dewalt-xr-20v-cordless-brushless-3-speed-oscillating-tool-kit-w-soft-case-battery-charger-99-free-shipping

But yes, if you buy a bare tool and this battery, you will need to source a charger.

Just put it away until you buy another tool deal with battery and charger. Or if you end up with more tools and batteries and no chargers, its only $15-20 on marketplace.

I bought this deal at Home Depot last week. I did not need a 4 pack of batteries. One battery for $39 was a great investment. Tripled the amount of work my tools were able to handle versus the small free combo batteries.

Do yourself a favor and buy the USBC ones for $20 on Amazon. Sure it's a bit slower, but it's incredibly small and uses a standard usbc-pd charger and turns into a battery pack to charge your phone. It's so convenient.

Note that these are 3 Amps, so will run down pretty quick. Best bet for power/run time is 5-6 amps.

I'm sorry, but how is this even remotely a front page deal?

or, get a stand-alone name-brand charger for $32.95: https://urlhasbeenblocked.com/26u9csh9 (shortened link for Amazon)
