And?

Every time I work with USM staff they are competent, polite, and patient. And almost always get things right on the first effort!

To compare, "US-based" Consumer Cellular is a joke for "customer service."

I switched from T-Mobile to US Mobile last month. I wish I switched sooner.

Very easy to port out. No issues. It's great being able to switch between all three networks, which is unique to US Mobile.

My wife was hesitant to switch, but she's had no issues at all on Dark Star (AT&T). I have RCS issues on Dark Star with a OnePlus 13, but no issues on Warp (Verizon).

I thought I could buy it by 6/7 to lock in the price and promo - then I have more time to activate and port in - are you saying purchase AND activate by 6/7?
Hm well that's what the first rep told me, but I just asked another one and they said just purchase it, and that seems to line up with what everyone else here is saying

Yeah I found this link:https://www.usmobile.com/internat...hone-plansLike an idiot I assumed unlimited data/talk/text in International - of course the hidden text somewhere obscure. So 1GB data seems bad. I did not realize this - heck 10GB doesn't seem any better. I would use it for driving directions - emails - etc.. I don't travel much but I thought the USM International was a plus over TMobile. Though TM - I believe - offers unlimited in Canada and Mexico. How does this work then - I see you can buy an add-on plan. What happens if you go over these numbers- are you throttled - or do you actually then pay International Rates - which can be excessive.
Hard capped for international data. They might have the same canada/mexico=us idea as tmobile

i'm on Verizon now, taking in in the shorts. Will I notice a big drop off in coverage and speed?

I did tests with wifi - TMobile - Dark Star and actually switched to Light Speed. TMobile was 5guc and it was fastest even faster than WiFi for downloads. Uploads sucked. Dark Star was a slower than TMobile in 5G and a bit slower on uploads. I switched to Light Speed and it was very slow compared to all - funny how LS was on LTE and not 5Guc. In the end I'm going back to Dark Star for now. For the savings I get it's a no brainer. If you do lots of data login to wifi or use a different device. I did not test Warp (Verizon).

TMobile website. Listen I'm still okay with getting away from TMobile high costs. I don't travel much but unlimited text and data would be nice. Calling can be capped. You can manage communications via TM and email.

Unlimited basic data and streaming in Mexico and Canada. Plus, unlimited talk and text to and from the US, Mexico, and Canada.

Their chat is pretty responsive and 24/7 except for tomorrow. As I understand it, you need to port-in by June 7th, but you can activate whenever. That means you could get the promotion but would have no mobile plan from the 7th until the SIM arrives. Some options would be asking chat for an exception, try to live with just wifi, get a temporary prepaid SIM with a random phone number, etc.
I contacted support and they said it's okay to wait for physical sim beyond 7th...as long as the plan is purchased before 7th. we can port the line after 7th.

Got premium activated and ported number from numberbarn (only few minutes) then see my free starter to activate. When to activate starter and see option for Dark and Warp. And selected Warp then enter imei and get option to Get new number, not required port in? Total at the end still $0. So I can activate free starter on Warp and get new number?

Read terms and conditions. You are setting yourself up to void the discount/free line.

1. Yes you can, and yes just new to US-Mobile in general. You can be part of AT&T and still get this deal, but I don't think you can port a line that on US-Mobile-Warp/Lightspeed (their Verizon/TMobile)2. Yes, you can switch between them normally but on this promo you must stay on AT&T/Dark Star 90% of the time or the promo is invalidated3. Well this deal is for Dark Star/AT&T, you can't switch to Light Speed/T-Mobile. Even ignoring that, All 3 have different levels of plans themselves (even unlimited ones), so best bet is to load up a comparison website and check the specific plans you want. https://www.bestphoneplans.net/ 4. Because Starter is cheaper? Premium gets you higher priority, no throttling after 70 GB and a different Hotspot data cap, free smartwatch, etc.5. You just asked about Unlimited Starter plan in the previous question. For most plans you can pay monthly or annually (with a discount)6. https://www.usmobile.com/internat...hone-plans7. Terms, click on Refund Policy: https://www.usmobile.com/terms• It has been less than 45 days since the plan was purchased• It has been less than 30 days since the plan start date• There has been no usage within the current cycle (otherwise partial refund, see below)• The plan is not a snooze plan• For lines on an unlimited plan that includes roaming, there has been zero usage of any roaming data, talk, or textI'm also switching from T-Mobile. My 10 person plan went from $220 -> $290
thank you very much. switching from tmobile too. they have gone overboard.

I tried dark star, didn't support RCS, so group chat/imessage with Androids won't work.

Else speeds were meh for me, Verizon (warp) still the best.
Not sure if this is maybe just an iPhone problem, because RCS is definitely supported on Android. I am currently on darkstar and have no issues with RCS (note: you do need to enable it in most text message app settings after activation)

Agreed. Glad I have another week before doing an eSIM purchase and sitting on it for 45 day to see clear updates on Apple Watch. I have two family members who could save a little on Warp but quite a bit more on a Dark Star deal. They have to have easy access to Apple Watch. Annoying how many assumed a carrier update would be a magic fix - after digging deeper it seems that a special contract and server side changes need to arrive and those cannot be blamed on Apple like RCS - must be a challenging negotiation as the Q2 estimate looks almost beyond reach at this late date. If I can get my money back for unused product on multi-month it is worth buying and waiting while my other non-watch family members move on with the BOGO. As for "what happens after a year" - as long as I can port out and back in I have no worries. I did NOT experience resistance to getting my port information and I was up front with CS that I intended to leave for 15 days and come back to make sure I don't void current policies and terms. Glad they were specific that 15 days is enough. If that gets reneged on it will definitely cause me concern and impact future deal-making.

Dan
