Sale Price does not include sale prices at Amazon unless a deal was posted by a community member.
I try to inform the Meta 3/S posts when I can with helpful information below.
If you don't like the "free" games of the month you can hold off activating Meta+ for 3 months.
Games claimed for "free" through the subscription are only accessible with an active subscription.
$30 credit for those that use a friend link prior to device setup (it's a ban-able offense on SD to post/request such links but check Reddit)
ALL SALES ARE TARGETED meaning they could offer 50% off to one account and no sale for another.
When buying games check for developer links to save a flat 15-20% when no active sale on the game.
You're going to want a better strap and there's 2 or 3 great options for under $100. Some have hot swap batteries. (Globular, BoboVR, Kiwi)
If you have glasses or astigmatism; there are snap on prescription lenses for $20 on sites or $50 direct from Meta (also other glasses stores)
The max credit you can attain per year is $599 (anything $600+ is taxable)
The 4th gen headset is expected 2026/2027
There's free 3rd party software like OcularMigraine that improves visuals at the cost of battery life. There are some paid like Quest Games Optimizer but they may need invasive permissions.
The games with PCVR need the Meta app for PC and many others recommend Virtual Desktop when on sale.
You do not need to link FB/IG to your account can use a normal email account.
If you mess up the $30 link you have 7 days to click a $30 link and factory reset your headset and go through initial setup to get it. Otherwise you need a good bit of personal info from the other person for support to process it. Sometimes there's a promo for $60 credit so check the app.
I'm sure there is info I forgot like there's no crossbuy and if you see it that means it gives you a Meta PC copy you need the app to play.
360 videos through the YouTube app are not true 4K and should be downloaded to view uncompressed.
Rechargeable batteries for the controllers are a must as they take 1 AA each.
Activate 2 factor authentication and set a pin for purchases to minimize accidents. There is a small return window for purchases but YMMV with support.
Those with GeForceNow can use it with the headset but the experience is not amazing yet.
Do NOT expose headset or lenses to direct or reflected sunlight (use a cover)
If you owned a Quest2 and purchase a Quest3 you may still be able to get the $30 activation credit.
Do NOT leave the headset charging for hours unsupervised or with 3rd party plugs/cables
Always read reviews as Most Recent and check online for in dept reviews.
I've accidentally punched my headset during a vr workout and thankfully it was fine but mind your surroundings.
Meta+ is not needed to use the headset. (You do need it to play your claimed Quest+ freebie monthly games)
Only use a dry microfiber cloth to clean your lenses or risk removing the anti glare coating.
Just FYI, when I went to the product page on Amazon, my Capitol One browser extension found this offered on ebay with newegg as the seller, and an offer (I think it applied a coupon code) that brought it down to $245 before tax.

It'll probably be fixed in a month or so but a lot of users are having constant crashes with the new OS update. Message boards full of people complaining or asking why crashes.
I'm not getting the crashes (not all are and it may be down to your choice of games) but Questlink simply no longer works for me.
Par for the course with Meta's headsets lately. Frankly I'm just done with them after this fiasco.

Waiting for the Quest 3 512 GB to go on sale. I'll take 10% off. Anything.
Costco $450, theres an sd thread from a few days ago. $475 if youre not a member iirc. But i think there is also a stackable deal on new membership, separate sd thread on it

Thanks for the heads up. Holding out for an Amazon deal. Got a lot of Amazon gift cards to use up.

Same, wished the Quest 3s didn't exist. At this point though, I rather get the Meta Quest 4 for how long it's been that there's been no discount for the Quest 3

Batman game extended through December 2026.
- I own a 3
You can skip the Meta PC app and get Steam Link instead and play SteamVR games
I own both 3 and 3S, yet I still don't have to copy of the Batman game because I bought both used. Hopefully someday I can score that for a good deal :-)

I have both units and I think it was actually a pretty good idea of developing the 3S. I had a two before and the slight upgrades on the 3S made it a useful unit again. I didn't love the 2, but I don't feel bad letting my friends use the 3S when I'm using my main unit.

I've owned a Q2 for 3 years and love it, especially PCVR. Based upon your experience, does the Q3S provide an experience much different from the Q2? I have read that they are nearly the same ... or at least similar. I've been looking at jumping on a Q3 ... if the price is right!
Please PM me if you want a deal on B:AS. No, this has nothing to do with referrals ... just trying to help.
